About our home

We have lived in our comfortable family home for 22 years. It is ideally located for seeing the British Isles. Accomodation comprises a large kitchen/breakfast room with utility room attached. A comfortable lounge with open fire (coal/wood available), a dining room, sitting room with views of the large garden and a WC complete the downstairs accomodation. Upstairs there are four double bedrooms, with two having en suite facilities. There is a family bathroom and separate WC. The fifth bedroom is used as an office with internet and fax facilities. Outside there is a double gargage and additional parking space, a greenhouse and shed are set in a large child friendly garden.

More about us

  1. We are Christine and John. We have lived in Wetherby for over 34 years and are now retired. We have many friends locally who would be pleased to show you around and suggest places to visit if required. Our children are both married - our son lives at Bramhope (about 30 minutes away) and would also be happy to help with anything concerning our home or your plans to explore the countryside. Our daughter lives in Perth WA (about 24 hours away) hence our desire to exchange homes with someone in the Perth area.

Where is it?

Wetherby is a market town (the market takes place every Thursday) situated midway between the historic Roman town of York to the East, the more modern city of Leeds to the South and the Victorian spa town of Harrogate to the West. The main London to Edinburgh A1 trunk road passes close to Wetherby thereby giving excellent communications and access to the Motorway Network. London is approximately 200 miles South of Wetherby and Edinburgh a similar distance to the North. Some beautiful and dramatic countryside can be accessed from Wetherby. The National Parks of the Yorkshire Dales, Noth York Moors and the Derbyshire Peak district are all within easy reach. Further afield, the Lake District National Park can be reached in about two hours. Wetherby is well served with travel services - main line rail stations in York and Leeds and airports at Leeds/Bradford 30 minutes away and Manchester 90 minutes away.
