About our home
This is a comfy and functional home nestled by big fir trees in the backyard. Although located close to many amenities it is in a rural country setting. The living room & dining room graciously welcome visitors. Come & enjoy the fully equipped kitchen where sunlight streams in. You can easily seat 5 adults at the kitchen nook which is connected to the family room. Here you will have use of a 60 inch TV with surround sound, Netflix and Wii gaming. Wireless internet and cable is available upstairs also. Off the family room is a large balcony with a natural gas BBQ and a view of the agricultural land & one of the nearby golf courses. Watch the squirrels in the backyard or hear the coyotes at night. Upstairs, the master bedroom has a comfy queen sized bed, a 3 piece ensuite, ceiling fan and a walkout balcony with a view of Mount Baker located in the U.S. In the other two bedrooms, there is a queen sized bed and a double sized bed, both rooms have ceiling fans. The basement is our storage area but it also has a treadmill if you wish to use it.

The neighbourhood is quiet and charming, with all shopping possibilities nearby with the car or bus. Then, Vancouver was a real surprise for me. So pleasant with all the water fronts and beautiful views, nice people, easy transportation, and many museums to visit. The region is amazingly beautiful, and I will definitely come back to British Columbia later to explore more of the coast and islands. Last but not least, Ellen and Ken are extremely nice and easy-going people - they gave me lots of tips and we spent one day together visiting some beautiful places on the coast. This was one of my greatest exchanges so far!”
“Ellen & Ken live in a very comfortable house in Surrey located about 40 miles from Vancouver. As we could use their car the access to the city was easy. There is also a very fast Skytrain connection to the center of Vancouver. Many other Canadian attractions are also nearby and so we still do have lots of unforgettable impressions. The house is just as shown in the pictures. It is spacious and very clean. We found lots of hints written on various stickers which was a great help. It also shows that Ellen and Ken are people who care for their customers and so we had a very warm feeling: people you can trust! Coming home we found our house was left immaculate. We are both retired (69 yrs) and are looking forward to traveling as much as we can (while we can). I retired from teaching elementary school and Ken retired from being a ship's officer. We enjoy camping, fishing, food, beautiful buildings & landscape. Ken loves his museums & history. We have completed 22 home exchanges so far (we started with Homeforexchange). Exchanging homes has been a wonderful experience for us (and many). People seem to be of the same mind - want to enjoy the world in a friendly and safe environment. Our experiences have been very positive & we like to keep in contact during our exchanges via the internet. We take great care while in your home & are very respectful of other people's property.

Located in a quiet and highly desirable neighbourhood. My home is on a spacious picturesque corner lot of a south sloping hill. Below is the partial view of agricultural land and one of the golf courses nearby. There are two nearby golf courses. Surrey Golf (half a km away) & Northview Golf & Country (3.6 km away). Many amenities are nearby: recreational facilities (swimming pools with diving boards & water slide, tot pool, hot tub, 3 skating arenas, weight room, fitness) and a public library,
Beautiful Fleetwood Park 1.8 km away (which has basketball, volleyball, gardens, picnic tables, trails, childrens' waterpark, baseball & soccer fields). Two nearby pubs, many grocery stores, pharmacies, restaurants (Japanese, Vietnamese, Indian, American, Greek, fast foods) , banks, buses and more.
From this location there is easy access to the freeway, shopping malls 15 min., U.S. 20 min., Vancouver 40 min., Seattle 2 hrs. and Whistler 2hrs 15min. A skytrain station 15 minutes away will take you into Vancouver, the airport or Coquitlam. Here is an article about our beautiful city.
