Where is it?

Rural, coastal area famous for its mild climate and scenery. Town is small but has two shopping centres, large library, courthouse, art gallery etc. etc. and is located along the shore. Small communities scattered up and down the coast line in heavily forested and mountainous area. 30 min drive to ferry for Vancouver, which takes about 45 mins and runs approx. every two hours. Lots of beaches, some sandy, some rocky and many little coves with small communities built around them which can only be found by exploring off the main highway. Many good restaurants and an attractive pub on the harbour inland inlet, where seaplanes and boats are moored. Several rental places for kayaking and diving, which are major sports here. Plenty of hiking and mountain lakes for fishing.
