We are a retired non smoking couple in our early 60's we have a 2 bedroom 2 bathroom condo in the west end of Vancouver. We are within easy walking distance of most tourist attractions, Stanley park and downtown. Sking on Local mountains is a 1/2 hr drive and Whistler is 2hrs away. Alaska cruise ships leave from Canada place which is a 5 min Cab ride away.
We are a retired couple who enjoy Travel.
We would like to exchange with the Carolinas or Georgia, also the west coast of the USA. We have met some wonderful people on a couple of Hospitality exchanges this past year and are hoping to arrange a couple of Hospitality exchanges in the coming year. Exchanges need not be at same time, as we have a second home.
Vancouver has a spectacular setting, offers unparalleled outdoor recreation opportunities, and is large enough to support a wide range of cultural activities whilst not being so large that it is overwhelming. Vancouver's boast is that it is possible to ski, sail and golf on the same day. It is unusual among North American cities in that there are a large number of people who live in the downtown area resulting in a city that is alive at night and is one of the safest cities in North Amercia. Vancouver itself is a major tourist destination, but it is also a great base from which to explore the Canadian Rockies, Vancouver Island, the Gulf Islands, Whistler Mountain and is the starting point for Alaska Cruises. Vancouver is rated by the UN as the world's most livible city, and with good reason. It is a beautiful multicultural city with great restaurants/shopping/culture/park's and outdoor activities. Prices are a fraction of European or American costs (but with equivalent quality). Whistler, the United States and Vancouver Island are all easily accessible. Cross streets are Jervis and Harwood.
