About our home

My home is very comfortable and clean with maple hardwood floors and a gas fireplace. There is infloor heating. My front door leads directly to the outside, where I have a private patio which leads into the courtyard, which has a secured gate leading on to the street.

I have a galley kitchen, small but has everything required, i.e. built-in microwave, stove, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, garburator, insuite washer/dryer. All are in excellent shape.

More about us

  1. My name is Susan, I am a single woman in her late 40's, no kids, originally from Northern Ireland. I love Vancouver and have great friends here. One of my passions is travel and I have lived in Canada for 24 years, as well as Brussels and London, England.

I am single again (I have had 2 very long relationships) and have been thinking recently about going back to Northern Ireland on a year's trial, hence my interest in home exchange. All my family is still back in NI and I have been wondering if I might be able to settle back there as the political climate seems to be a lot better than when I left. I don't want to give up my home here until I know that I could really settle back in N. Ireland. So a friend suggested that I try this. Not sure if it will work with other people's ideas of home exchange but I thought I'd give it a try.

Where is it?

My home is close to False Creek; a beautiful inlet that moors yachts with a sea walk that also has a pub and a few very popular restaurants. A 15-20 min walk takes you to Granville Island, a lively and busy market with cafes, restaurants, pubs, art galleries, and street entertainment.

It is about 5 min. by car to downtown or a 20 min walk or 5 min bus ride. It is a very central area of Vancouver, close to everything - pubs, clubs, restaurants, cafes, shopping, galleries.

It is a very desirable area to live in and the neighbours are very friendly and hospitable.
