Have the peace of a quiet, friendly neighborhood while living adjacent to downtown! House is located in the family friendly Cedar Cottage neighbourhood (7 min drive, 15 min bus or sky train, 15 min bike to downtown). Many parks and playgrounds in area. We're also sandwiched between 2 vibrant commercial streets (Commercial Drive and the up-and-coming South Main Street (SoMa)). Kingsway to the south offers great Vietnamese, South Indian, Thai, and a delightful, French restaurant!). Broadway to the north offers efficient transit access. Trout lake park nearby offers a serene walk around a small lake, and lots of dog off-leash fun. Single express bus connects you to the University of British Columbia in 30 min. Vancouver has easily accessible beaches, sea-walls and 3 local family-friendly ski mountains that open in late November/ early December (Cypress Mtn, Grouse Mtn, & Seymour) - all of which offer spectacular day & night skiing/snowshoeing. There's not many places in the world that can boast windsurfing/kayaking during the day (the weather in the city is mild even in the winter) and skiing/snowshoeing at night! Lower elevations offer year-round hiking. Vancouver is situated 2 hours from Whistler/Blackcomb ski resort, 2 hours from Mt. Baker skiing (Washington, USA) and 3 hours from Seattle. It's also a great launching point for exploring Vancouver Island and the many little "Gulf Islands" that dot our coastline.
