About our home

We have just spent the last year renovating this 1920's house. While maintaining many of its character features, it has met the 21st century with internet access in every room, surround sound in the family room, and a beautiful kitchen. The main floor of the house consists of a living room, kitchen with breakfast nook, dining room, family room, den (with queen size hide-a-bed) and bathroom. There is also a porch out front and a nice deck out the back. Upstairs are the two girls rooms with single beds and a shared bath, and the master suite with a queen bed, ensuite bath and walk-in closet. Most of the main level has fir floors the bedrooms are carpeted. Our house is furnished simply but comfortably and very ready for kids.

More about us

  1. Nicole (government manager)and Neil (high school teacher) are interested in an exchange for the summer of 2007 (two weeks to 2 months). We would love to let our two daughters (currently 6 and 4) experience the culture of another coastal town in Europe. we would love to find an exchange in a small village where we can walk to the beach, village shops or? Relaxing at the beach, getting to meet the neighbours, and maybe even a game of golf would be our idea of a great exchange. No beach.....drop us a line anyway!
We would also consider an exchange involving a canal boat in England, Holland ......?

Where is it?

Victoria is located on Vancouver Island. We are on the far west coast of Canada, a 2 hour ferry ride from Vancouver. Travel magazines often list Victoria as one of the most beautiful cities in the world, and we are very fortunate to live in one of the nicest residential areas of Victoria. You can sip coffee in the sun on our front porch in the morning, take the 3 minute walk and spend the day at a sandy beach and kid friendly park, and then on your walk back home stop and get some fish and chips to eat on the sunny back deck. A 10 minute walk will get you a nice cup of coffee, a video or the groceries. Add another 5 minutes and you can be at the marina where you can feed the seals, go salmon fishing or even arrange to watch the killer whales. You can catch the bus at the end of our quite street which will get you to downtown, and the beautiful inner harbour in about 15 minutes.
Victoria is a safe city with very friendly and helpful people.
