Our two-storey home dates from about 1912 and retains its original wood trim and stained glass windows. The kitchen and bathrooms are fully modernized. On the main floor, you will find a bedroom with a queen sized bed, and a bathroom with a shower and a tub. Also on the main floor are a full kitchen, dining room, living room, and den with TV, stereo, and fireplace, as well as a home office with computer.
The second floor has two bedrooms, one with a queen sized bed, the other with a double bed. There is also a bathroom with a shower and tub.
A washer and dryer are also available for your use.
We are Graham and Jean, in our late-fifties with no children living at home. Graham makes fine furniture as a new career after a carrer in government. Jean, formerly a senior official with the provincial government, is now a consultant.
We have never done a home exchange but have heard only good things from others who have. We will be travelling with our good friends, Jose and Rebecca.
Our home is located in Victoria, on Vancouver Island (the largest Island on the eastern shores of the Pacific Ocean). Victoria is the Capital of British Columbia on the west coast of Canada.
We are in a quiet residential neighbourhood two blocks from the ocean. In just five minutes, you can reach a seaside walkway, where you can walk or jog along the water. With a slight detour, you can enjoy a beautiful park, and then stroll through a delightful shopping area.
Downtown can be reached in half an hour on foot, or just over five minutes by bus or by car.
The world famous Butchart Gardens are only a half hour drive from Victoria. The large cosmopolitan city of Vancouver (site of the 2010 Olympic winter games) is accessible by a wonderful ferry ride through the scenic Gulf Islands.
