About our home

Our home is just a block and a half from the vibrant village square, the local pub, the Belfry Theatre, the co-operatively owned organic cafe, and the intimate wine bar with the delectable tapas-stye menu - who needs downtown? Of course, if you are still feeling exploratory, there is plenty of transit three blocks away and it only takes 15 minutes to walk to town or to pristine Oak Bay, 30 minutes to the ocean at Willows Beach. We have a comfortable space with a modern aesthetic, bamboo flooring, chic organic and sustainable furnishings, with quirky collections and plenty of books. The kitchen boasts a vintage Cimbali espresso machine set to an automatic timer so it is hot and ready to brew you a perfect pull every morning. We have a four season garden in the backyard along with cherry, plum and pear trees, and a greenhouse loaded with fresh herbs and salad greens. "Farm-ette" may be a little generous - it's basically a decent sized backyard that we have crammed full of vegetable and flower beds, a greenhouse, beehives and bunnies. The child's bedroom is outfitted with a loft bed with a super soft organic mattress and duvet. The main bedroom has a queen sized organic bed that has different firmness levels (one side is soft, one side is firm) and a variety of pillows for the discerning sleeper. Super soft organic cotton sateen sheets. We don't own a tv but we do have Apple TV in the main bedroom. On rainy nights the whole family huddles in the cozy "big bed" to watch movies. The bathroom is not huge but not tiny and the shower has plenty of pressure and hot water (even with the water-saving fixture). We love it here and do our best to make sure you feel the love as soon as you arrive. We are happy to recommend restaurants, stores, food shops, cafes and attractions that we enjoy ourselves and give you the insider's guide to the best of Victoria.
