We offer a non-simultaneous exchange for the private garden apartment in our ocean view executive home. The apartment is newly painted and updated. It is perfect for those seeking a comfortable vacation home in a secluded area of waterfront homes. A queen size bed assures you a good night's sleep. The kitchen, although compact is fully outfitted with stove, oven, microwave, full size fridge, coffee maker, and all the dishes, cutlery you would find in your own home. A full size washer and dryer are also in the apartment. A barbeque, lawn chairs, tables are also in the garden for your use. The living room has a sofa, two large chairs, television and stereo. For those wanting a quiet retreat at the end of day filled with golfing, sailing, hiking, or shopping this is the perfect choice. We will be here when you arrive to provide personal assistance with your travel options. Live like a local with local knowledge and ready made friends.
My husband Paul and I are mid 50's and have retired early. We have traveled extensively in the past always renting apartments or houses so that we can live like a local. Now that we have a lovely home with a private apartment on the lower level we would like to exchange non-simultaneous accomodations. This way we would be able to offer our guests local knowledge as well as accepting your apartment or guest cottage. Paul is an avid golfer and I love walking and gardening. A dog and 2 cats share the property.
We have had three exchanges this summer and are looking forward to more. This is the perfect way to travel!
Cowichan Valley was voted one of the top three best places in North America to retire. Our small neighbourhood, at Cherry Point, consists of a dozen waterfront and semi waterfront homes located on small acreages on a dead end road. The views are spectaular overlooking Cowichan Bay, Saltspring Island and Separation Point. Surrounding us are larger acreages featuring vinyards, private estates and dairy farms. Within walking distance is the seaside village of Cowichan Bay with restaurants, bakery, cheese shop, kyak rentals, marinas, liquor store, resort hotel, whale watching tours, and boat charters. The historic town of Duncan is a 10 minute drive away and offers a selection of lovely shops and restaurants. Within 15 minutes drive are 3 excellent public golf courses. Victoria, our provincial capital,is 45 minutes away and offers a wide variety of tourist attractions including Butchart Gardens, the Royal BC Museum, Butterfly Gardens, whale watching and 6 public golf courses. The Cowichan Valley is a just short drive to the northern towns of Nanaimo, Chemainus, Parksville and a ferry ride to the Gulf Islands and Vancouver for day trips.
