About our home

Our home is a very large second floor condominium with natural wood cathedral ceilings and tiled floors. We have a master bedroom with a king sized bed and attached bath with large shower, private balcony and large dressing area. The second bedroom has a queen bed and a twin bed with a full bath nearby. The living area is large and open with a well furnished kitchen, dining room and living room. A large wrap around balcony is furnished with couch, rocking chairs, hammock and table and chairs for eating. We have ceiling fans in all bedrooms, kitchen, dining room, living room and two balcony areas. We do not have air-conditioning and most of our time is spent outside on the balcony that has views of the gardens with its abundant wildlife.

Our condominium is one of four in the building. There are three buildings with a total of 13 units.

On the upper level is our swimming pool with a ranchito for shade and hammocks and views of the ocean and sunsets. On the lowest level are garages and laundry room with multiple machines shared by owners, guests and our maids.

We offer weekly cleanings, services of a rental agent and an accessible condominium manager. There are two gardeners who tend the tropical gardens and keep the common areas clean. In addition we employ a nightly guard to provides security.

Our small condominium community is friendly but we like to maintain a quiet and calm atmosphere. We respect the wildlife that surrounds us and use ecologically sound products and practices.

More about us

  1. We are a recently retired couple from Michigan in the United States. In the United States we worked in education for our entire careers. We have owned our condominium for 20 years and we have been coming to Costa Rica for vacation for 25 years. We have enjoyed sharing our Costa Rica home with family and friends and also use it occasionally for income property.

Since our retirement we have enjoyed traveling to other parts of the world including Asia, Africa and Europe. We would now like to begin exchanging our home for homes in other parts of the world.

Where is it?

Find our exact location by zooming in on Playa Pelada (Nosara) on Google maps or the satellite map here to your right. Find Olga's Bar (at Playa Pelada) on the map. It is right on the beach. Condominium de las Flores is the three red roofed buildings only 200 meters inland from Olga's near Playa Pelada. We live only three minutes walk from Playa Pelada which is then an easy walk to the three mile long Playa Guiones. The beaches of Nosara are world famous for surfing. Our surf area works for surfers of all levels of ability and every day is a surf day. Local surf schools abound.

In addition Nosara is known internationally for an abundance of Yoga centers where people come for both practice and teacher training. There are classes for all levels and preferences and at all times of the day.

The area boasts river and ocean kayaking, birding, horseback riding, hiking, beach combing. There is a great zip line in Nosara as well. The Nosara beaches are part of the Ostional Turtle Refuge for the nesting Olive Ridley turtles.

If one does not have a car when staying in our condo, there are several good restaurants within walking distance as well as a convenience store and a vegetable and fruit stand. The village of Nosara with larger grocery stores and other shops and restaurants is only a few kilometers away and can be accessed by taxis and tuk-tuks for hire.

The Nosara beach development was started more than 45 years ago and has attracted an international community of mostly single-family dwellers. There are some small hotels in the area but no large resorts. Our condominium was the first in the area and has been well maintained by its owners. We love our mature gardens and are awakened each morning by the parrots and the howler monkeys who eat the fruits of our trees.

CNN recently named Nosara one of eleven places in the world to visit owing to our community's commitment to sustainable living and sensitivity to the environment.
