About our home

My husband and I were first attracted by the fabulous view and excellent amenities at this property on the Northern Pacific coast just 30 minutes from the Liberia International airport. The 40 villa development has 3 swimming pools, a wonderful restaurant and property management to ensure a well maintained and secure environment. My favourite moments occur in the morning when I watch the monkeys and birds from the balcony off the master suite. In the evening we gather on the terrace to watch the sun set as the hawks soar overhead. It would be easy to walk over to the restaurant for a fabulous dinner but usually we prefer to barbeque fresh marlin or snapper caught that morning and some local produce from vendors at the beach town of Coco, 4 kilometres away.

More about us

  1. My husband and I are in our mid 40's with a 22 year old and a 15 year old who mostly prefer we travel without them. He is a commercial real estate agent of Austrian descent working with Magna International. I am a life long student of Spanish with a love of Mediterranian culture and society. As with most couples, there are differences. He enjoys nightlife and social stimulation. I would rather get up early and spend the day walking - be it in the countryside or in the city. We purchased our second home in Costa Rica because we genuinely loved it and having spent many year travelling to Costa Rica, we also loved the country. Nonetheless we want to see more of the world and create new memories. That's why I am signed on to Home For Exchange.

Where is it?

The Northern Pacific coast of Costa Rica is drier than most of the country so it doesn't get as much of a rainy season.

A wide variety of 'eco tours' are available and close by for the adventurous, including trips to volcanoes, hot springs, diving, and canopy tree tours.

Our development is called 'Bahia Pez Vela', Fly Fish Bay'. ( The property was originally owned by the Tuperware family as a fish camp.) Excellent sport fishing abounds in the area

The town/village of Playa Coco has bankng, a supermarket, numerous restaurants and boutiques. The 'Lizard Lounge' (apparently) 'rocks' most nights of the week.

The city of Liberia is a commercial/economic centre and Costa Rica's second largest city.
