Large mature trees in the front yard draw mot-mots and (in season) Resplendent Quetzals. Most mornings, howler monkeys can be heard calling from the nearby forest. The home was built in 1985, and recently renovated. It is a cozy "Tico style" home that has been remodeled for comfort and with the international tourist in mind. There is a large HOT TUB on the new covered patio. There are two bedrooms with queen-size beds featuring orthopedic mattresses. There is a fully equipped kitchen that includes a refrigerator/freezer, microwave, hot plate, and coffee maker. The Dining Area seats six people comfortably. Two Full Bedrooms with Queen Mattresses & Linens are provided. Spacious Living Area features Futon Sofa that Converts to 3rd bed. Skylights in Kitchen area and Living room. Study Area in Huge Master Bedroom. Lighted Walkways.

More about us

  1. My wife and I are in our mid fifties. I work as a tour operator, specializing in Costa Rica. My wife is a respiratory therapist. We love to travel. We have traveled extensively in the US and Central America. We are now "empty nesters". Meaning the kids are grown, and we are finally getting the opportunity to travel outside of the US and Central America.

We have been to Europe twice in the last few years. We have visited Amsterdam, Paris and Prague. We are low maintenance travelers. We are not seeking luxurious accommodations, but location and cleanliness are important.

We live in the Southern United States (New Orleans), and know the value being respectful and friendly to other people. We will treat your house or apartment as we would our own home, and leave it as clean as we find it.

Where is it?

Casita Jardin is located in Monteverde, on a small rise above the Main Road. It is only a short 700 meter walk to the world famous Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve.

The house is a short drive to Santa Elena the major town in this area. There has been a little bit of a restaurant revolution in this area. Check out my blog on restaurants in Costa Rica. Scroll down to the posting about Monteverde:
