About our home

Beautifully equipped and furnished villa in the amazing Costa Rica with a 25 minutes tropical drive from Liberia. From the moment you enter Casa del Papagayo you walk into relaxing oasis. Boasting one of the best and secluded views in Playa Panama on the Four Season Peninsula, it is a rare opportunity. Casa completed in 2010, is a functional home that was built by owner that have designed, constructed, and managed the home. Chef services are optional with the cost of food being additional.

It is much easier to get to Playa Panama by flying into Liberia NOT San Jose. American Airlines flies through Miami and is the quickest. Continental Airlines flies through Houston. Delta flies through Atlanta.

Full Description: This villa in Costa Rica has 2 bedrooms with 2 Full and 1 Half bathrooms. There is 1 Master Suites and 1 comfortable guest bedroom each with its own bathroom.

Location: The villa is located in one of the most exclusive, ocean view, private areas of Vistas del Pacifico (In the neighborhood: tennis, infinitive swimming pool, BBQ area, yoga classes). The road is entirely residential. Some of the best restaurants and hotels are located less than a mile away (Hilton Resort, Abocato Restaurant).

More about us

  1. We are Marta and Jack, a married happy family with one kid- a one year old boy. We are both professionals (dentist and film festival director) and enjoy travelling when able to get away. We live in Toronto, Canada, we are both Polish. We fly often to Europ- to visit our family in Poland. The house that we decided to exchange in Costa Rica is our vacation property. We have not done a home exchange before but are keen to try what sounds a great way to see another country as a resident - and allow someone to see yours. We would expect to arrange an exchange some way in advance in order to get to know our fellow exchangers via email first to see how best we can facilitate their stay in the Costa Rica.

Where is it?

We have a tennis court you can use and a huge community swimming pool. Playa Panama is the closest beach to our house. It is brown sand and deserted, a nice place to walk. To get there go down the main road through the security gate and turn left at the end. The first right is one entrance tot the beach where you can park. If you take a right out of our development you will come to The Hilton where you can pay for a day pass with pool, beach and a choice of restaurants. Not sure how good the foods is but check it out.
There are several other places for a day at the beach.
Café De Playa in Coco is a swank Italian Beach Club, no pool but great restaurant though pricey.
Our 2 favorites are Lola’s at Avellenas and Sugar Beach. Avellenas is the most beautiful beach but over an hour away. Sugar Beach is lovely and closer. The same owner owns both restaurants at the beaches so the food is identical. We make a habit of visiting both. If interested you need to get directions from Cheryl and Daryl or us before you leave. More information included later in this document.
There are many other beaches to explore up and down the coast but with only a week and so much to do I would recommend the 4 beaches close by.
However, If you love beaches our favorite is called Avellanas. It is about 1.25 hours south. White sand with great waves and a fabulous restaurant called Lolas (closed on Mondays). This is the same beach where the JW Marriot and Hacienda Pinilla are located and a nice walk from Lolas.
There are many, many restaurants in the Playa Hermosa area as well as the nearby communities of Playas del Coco and Playa Ocotal. E.g. Ginger – very popular, very nice tree house atmosphere. They serve tapas with an oriental flair. It is across the street from Hermosa del Mar on the main road into Hermosa or Villa del Suenos – located on the first road to Playa Hermosa. Pretty atmosphere (no view) and very good food. A bit expensive.
