About our home

Where to start! The Teahouse, as we call it, is located on the southeastern coast of Costa Rica in the small town of Cahuita. The property is 2 km north of Cahuita at the beginning of Playa Grande. The house is situated in the jungle 100 meters off the beach. The beach is ~ 5 km long and 50 - 100 meters wide. Depending in the season it could be all yours! The sand is a light grey fine powder.

The Teahouse was once a yoga studio and has a mesmerizing yoga deck, perfect for meditation, yoga (of course), and my favorite drinking Costa Rican coffee. We have also converted it into a large screen watch party area for movie night. This deck is transformable with minutes.

The house sits amongst 1 hectare of manicured gardens. A staff of three part time employees maintains the gardens as well weekly house cleaning.

Full disclosure there is no air conditioning. Second disclosure, you don't need it. I have yet to loose a nights sleep because of heat. Rain on a tin roof and waking up to howler monkeys are a part of the adventure. The outside spaces are what this place is about. The beach and nature.

We have the Cahuita Natural Park close by. With restaurants with a two mint to 20 minute walk...or a bike ride in minutes. We do ask that you care, feed and love our dog, Daisy and cat, DotNet during your stay. Both are people and pet friendly.
