About our home

We offer a comfortable and pretty (over garage) efficiency appartment that is separate from our custom build main house in a lush tropical setting. There is access to large balconies including a third floor mirador to watch sunsets over the Pacific ocean. Our 720 meters of altitude means comfortable temperatures all year round.
Floors are tiled and cupboards and furnishings are of tropical hardwood. The bed is queen size with an orthopedic foam mattress. There is a tiled 3 piece bath and the compact kitchenette features a refrigerator, microwave and a gas 4 burner stove top and appropriate kitchen ware.

Guests must be able to handle stair steps and be comfortable with dogs.

Where is it?

Visually Costa Rica is over the top. One runs out of superlatives while negotiating the mountain roads that feature valley, mountain and ocean views. We are located just off a well kept paved road 16 km from the beach, on the outskirts of a small rural town. We are also 16 km from a large commercial center (San Isidro del General). Local buses pass the gate. Our 7 ha. (17 acre) farm is about half rain forest, the rest is reforested pasture. Over the last 20 years we have developed our soul place with a variety of hiking trails in the forest and have a multipurpose zip line that carries people and goods across a deep ravine. In 2005 we designed and built our main house with detached apartment. Costa Ricans are known for their kind and welcoming natures to which we fully attest.
