“We had a lovely holiday here. The flat was good to be in. Shops just over the road were really handy. We walked a lot - into the town centre took us about 20 minutes, and Split's beach around 30 minutes. Split is a lively, attractive town and the historical old town fascinating. We visited the island of Brac a few times and loved it - beautiful, tranquil, lovely sea. Just remember to take beach shoes if you don't want to hurt feet on the rocks. Also enjoyed the local beaches. Went down to Dubrovnik on the coach (4-5 hours) for a few days. We found we didn't need a car on this holiday. Would recommend this as an exchange.”

Inda's reviews
As a host (2)“The appartment suited our family very well. It was modern, spacious, very nicely decorated and had air-conditioning too. There is a big shopping-mall across the street that made all the difference since it had every shop one may need (grocery, bakery, pharmacy including a nice restaurant at the top). Walking to the beach was a bit too far for us and our young kids so we used public transport. We recommend 'Bene' beach in Marjan park that can be reached using busses 7 and 12 (12A) as it was great for our kids and quiet enough for us. Visiting old city and Dioclecian's Palace is a must. We recommend visiting nearby town of Trogir too. This was a great experience for us and particularly pleasing as they'd taken great care of our home too. We'd highly recommend swapping with Pranic family and wouldn't hesitate doing it again in future years.”

We are Inda and Ivica.I am a teacher working in primary school, my husband is a free climber. Usually I travell only with my husband and sometimes we travell with our youngest child-daughter Ana (she is 17). We are quiet, clean and tidy, well-traveled family that loves to familiarize with spirit of European cities by renting places to stay in. Till now we had nine home swaps and all were very nice experience.

Where is it?
Neighbourhood
Split is, after Zagreb (the Capital), the second biggest city in Croatia, but regarding tradition and historical monuments, it is very first. It is situated right in the centre of east Adriatic coast and has approxsimately 200,000 inhabitants (it isn't too big) and thanks to Roman emperor Diocletian's 18 centuries old palace, it is the city-monument. But it is also a very lively town full of life and Mediterranean southern spirit that can be seen in open spaces, on streets, beaches, in shops, restaurants, stands, markets, cafe's, clubs...with it's citizens recognized for their hospitality and complaisance. Art, history, culture and just-fun lovers are attracted to it, patriculary in warm and sunny summertime.
