About our home

Skarinou is a village in the Larnaca district. It's just 20/25 minutes from Larnaka Airport. It is a perfect location to relax, unwind and enjoy a holiday. Our home is on the fringe of the village; 3 minutes away.

Our accommodation comprises; a large, airy living room, a large family kitchen with eating area, a dining room and 2 available bedrooms. One is a double with en-suite facility. The other can be either double or twin. There is a Z bed that could accommodate an extra guest. There is a family bathroom. Air conditioning and heating throughout. A wood burner adds extra warmth in winter. Outside there are paved terraces with shady pergolas and tables for al fresco meals. There is a dedicated BBQ/ courtyard area which becomes another room from April to October. The sun terrace with umbrella and sunbeds provides the perfect spot to relax and enjoy our distant mountain views. A large garden with mature trees and indigenous planting surrounds the house. There is rosemary hedging and culinary herbs in pots. Scented Jasmine and lavenders add to the ambiance. There is an orchard planted with a variety of citrus and fruit trees. The grapevine fruits in summer...help yourselves.
Should wheelchair access be required, a ramp could be arranged for the wide step to front porch. There is plenty room for parking in the drive. A hire car would be necessary to explore the area, enjoy nearby beaches, tavernas, historic sites and to explore the mountain villages which hold festivals throughout the year.
The area is extremely popular due to its central location which provides easy access to major towns of Lefkosia (Nicosia), Lemasos (Limassol) and Larnaka. The world heritage site of Khirokotia is 10 minutes drive away. Local beaches are 15/20 minutes drive. Governor's Beach and Ayios Geogios Alamanos have all facilities. The latter has fish directly from the sea.
The village itself has a large supermarket selling Cypriot and UK products. There are cafes and tavernas. There is a donkey sanctuary too. The village of Lefkara is nearby; famous for silver and handmade lace and linen. There are many coastal and mountain villages, each with its own charm, history, annual events and family run tavernas. The Retro Tavern in the nearby village of Kalavassos is worth a visit.
