About our home

Large three bedroom flat 10 minutes from the center of Copenhagen. The flat is ideally suited for families with children. The heart of the flat is the open kitchen, with seating arrangement for breakfast and lunch, and dining-living room next to it.

The other half of the flat consists of three bedrooms, a large master bedroom, as well as a large and a smaller bedroom with beds for younger children (180cm long). An extra mattress is also available if needed.

Other rooms: a laundry room, a small bath-room (shower) and a second toilet. The building is surrounded by a U-shaped closed courtyard with several terraces and a small play-ground.

More about us

  1. We are both professionals (art historians) working for Copenhagen museums. The family consists of Liza (39) and David (35) and our two girls Ea Luna (8) and Nora (6). We are primarily interested in cities with a bustling cultural scene, primarily fine art museums and contemporary art. When we travel to visit the art scene, we might go without the kids, while they will stay with their grandparents. But all four of us would also enjoy to go somewhere to sunbathe and swim in the ocean.

We did our first home exchange (Amsterdam) at Christmas 2010. The swap was a great success, and we really liked the idea of travelling and at the same time having the feeling of being at home. We are looking foreward to our next home exchange.

PLEASE do not contact us, if you are not seriously interested in an exchange with us.

Neighbourhood

Situated near the Copenhagen centre in cosy Frederiksberg all of Copenhagen's attractions and possibilities are easily available: shopping, museums, the royal palaces, Tivoli, dining, nature/parks etc. Transportation is easy, as there is a bus out side the door and a metro station within walking distance. But why not use the family's bikes and experience Copenhagen during the short 10 minute ride? The neighborhood itself features a beautiful public bath, as well as the picturesque Frederiksberg Garden, the Zoo and local dining and shopping possibilities. Several supermarkets and other shops are situated within five minutes walking; the nearest is only 50 meters away.

New York Times recommends Copenhagen as the no. 5 place to go in 2010: http://www.nytimes.com/2010/01/10/travel/10places.html?_r=1&ref=travel
