About our home

We offer a cozy single family house in the town of Grindsted, just 15 minutes from Legoland and the airport in Billund.

The house, which is 145 m2, includes kitchen with adjoining dining room, bathroom with a shower and living room with windows facing the garden. There are four bedrooms; two girls rooms with queen size beds, a guest room with a single bed and a bedroom with a double bed. The girl's beds can be shared if needed.

There are toys to play with and board games to play in the house.

The spacious garden is shielded from the surrounding houses. For the children there is a swing and a trampoline. For the adults there is a terrace facing West, a vegetable garden, a greenhouse, various berry bushes and a henhouse. So go and pick some fresh cucumbers and sneak out some eggs from under a hen!
In the summer 2020, we had a shelter built in the garden. There is room for four people in case you feel like sleeping outdoors.

More about us

  1. Our family includes Lotte, 45, Hannah, 17 and Sarah, 15. Lotte is an IT consultant at a large construction toy manufacturer in Billund.
Depending on the destination, my partner and his youngest son who is 16 may come with us, bringing us up to a total of five travelers.

We have never been much into big tourist hotels, but like to see the authentic side of a country.

In the summer 2015, we did our first home exchange and we loved the concept. We prefer to swap with another family with children but it is not a must.

If our house is of interest, we hope you also love animals as the cats and chickens are staying home :-) The cats use the flap and the chickens have large food containers, so they do not require much work.

We look very much forward to hearing from you.

Where is it?

Our house is situated in a quiet child-friendly neighborhood. Paths link to a large recreation area including a small lake, a playground and a football field.

The town of Grindsted started out as a small group of houses surrounding the railway station in the early 1900's. It has now grown to a population of approx. 10.000 people. It offers a variety of shops, cafés and restaurants. We have a small cinema, run by volunteers. Our new cultural centre, Magion, includes a public swimming pool, sports facilities and a fantastic library where the children can play and the adults will find books in English and international newspapers.

Grindsted is well located for visiting many places of interest:
