If you like the combination of a spacious modern apartment and the atmosphere of 17th century building style then this apartment is for you. It's situated in the oldest part of Elsinore among stone coppled streets, roses and with every possible infrastructure and shopping facilities just around the corner.
Renovated in 2016 my apartment has all the modern comfort you need while still maintaining its historic charm. It was originally a storage building to a merchant at the main street and actually consists of three seperate houses woven into one. The building houses two apartments in total, and mine is the top one spanning over the two top floors of the building. It has a total of 163 square meters divided between four bedrooms, two living rooms and a big kitchen. Add to that a beautiful bathroom and a small storage room.
Since the apartment is withdrawn from the street it comes with a parking space within the courtyard, and this takes the stress off the hazzle of finding a parking space in Elsinore.
Washing machine is in the basement and you share it with the elderly couple in the bottom apartment, but they are rarely at home (they also live elsewhere), and if so they are very kind, outgoing and understanding.
The quiet and extremely warm terasse in the courtyard is also at your free disposal, but since this is also shared with the bottom apartment, you will have to communicate with them for the use of it, if they are at home (most likely they are not).
Also, by all means say hi to Karin, the ceramic artist, which has a nice workshop within the courtyard. She's is sort of part of the place and makes beautiful ceramics of high quality.
You can easily be a family of five in this apartment, and you will love coming home from your day trips to its cool and quiet atmosphere. The location is perfect for the familiy who wants a vacation base situated just 50 km north of Copenhagen and with close access to all the historical sights of Northern Zealand, Hornbæk beach (one of the best in Denmark), Sweden (just 30 minutes by ferry), and of course Copenhagen, which is only 40 minutes by train or 30 minutes by car).
If you have small children they can both sleep and play in the courtyard. It's quiet and completely safe. If you have bigger kids who want to run around in the streets of Elsinore (let's say on roller skates) this is also safe as long as you stay within the old part of town where traffic is highly restricted.
If you have doubts or questions about something ask any of the neighboors. This is a neighboorhood where people talk to each other and look out for one another.
