About our home

Cosy, artistic family home with a lush garden in unique family-friendly neighbourhood, centrally placed in Copenhagen. This is the perfect place to stay if you need direct access to the sights and sounds of central Copenhagen yet also the tranquility of a green residential oasis within walking distance of a local park with a beach.

'Mozart garden city' is a converted allotment zone in the Southern harbour area of the city, characterised by it's self-built and varied housing stock. Enjoy the diversity of the community and architecture in a stylish and welcoming home a small garden full of flowers, shrubs and herbs.

The house comfortably sleeps 5 people, and up to 7 if needs be. Fully functional (but not perfect), stylish but unpretentious, decorated by items of art and handicrafts, this is a living home with a cosmopolitan feel, where Danish design as well as earthy 'hygge' make for a relaxed atmosphere. Designed and built by the owners partly using reclaimed materials it includes two bedrooms with doublebeds, an office/bedroom with a single bed, a small hall with mirrors for yoga/fitness/dance, a fully fitted modern scandinavian wood table top kitchen with everything you need to make a great meal. The living room ajoins, offering cozy sofas with room for 6 and generous windows to the garden where you can enjoy stunning sunsets. Take dinner or barbecue with the solid wood home-deisgned garden table on the patio among the fruit trees and roses.

Altogether 120 m2 of living space fully equipped with modern amenities: fridge, oven, microwave, free speedy Wifi, washing machine, tumble dryer, dishwasher.

The local area offers safe streets for children to play, a community farm just around the corner with horses, sheep, rabbits etc.

A short stroll will take you to the fascinating harbour area, or in the other direction to the local park (including beach access). 7 minutes walk to the bakery, local shops and supermarkets and S-train station. 15 minutes from central copenhagen by bicycle. Bicycles are available for those who wish to experience Copenhagen authentically as a true local.

Neighbourhood

The house is situated in a safe, no-through-road area in a unique neighborhood with varied houses, perfect for children (and childish souls) safe for rollerskating, cycling or playing out unsupervised.

Only 100m away you find a playground for younger kids and a tabletennis-table for older ones. 200m in the opposite direction there is the city farm (Børnenes Dyremark) with horses, sheep and rabbits. There is also a well-stoked childrens library and a café (Karensminde).

In addition we have Copenhagen's biggest park - Valbyparken - close at hand where you can amuse yourself feeding the roaming sheep and alpachas, play soccer, explore the adventure playground or try your hand on the giant frizzbee course. Alternatively make a fire at the pre-prepared bonfire site (wood provided) or enjoy the scents in the impressive rose gardens.

At the same time, central Copenhagen and its many tourist attractions and sights is on your doorstep (three stops with the metro or via the bus leaving regularly from the local square): The Queens Castle, Tivoli, many museums, boat-tours or self-hire boats in the habour. The free-town Christiania offers a bohemian pulse, querky shops, restaurants etc. Be sure to swim in one or more of the multiple open-air swimming spots in the habour area, enjoying the clean water in the middle of the city, connected to open sea.

Copenhagen has a vibrant and world-famous restaurant scene, amazing scandinavian design and clothes shops and plenty of flea markets for bargain-hunters.
