More about us

  1. We are a big family comprising 5 children ranging from 12 to 19 yrs in age, 4 boys and 1 girl, the oldest twins. Peter is Head of Greenland Travel and Lene is Head of Geoscience in Maersk Oil. We love our home country, but are also very fond of going abroad and experience other cultures. We are very keen to try out this model of swapping houses - hope to avoid tourist ghettoes and see more genuine parts of the country.

Where is it?

Quiet and charming neighborhood. A nice stroll, open air dancing or a drink in the biggest park in Copenhagen (5 minutes walk away). If you would like to bicycle – you are in the right place – it is safe (bicycle paths along all streets) and the quickest way to get around. In 10 minutes you will be at the local beach or in heart of ancient Copenhagen. Otherwise bus, S-train and Metro will take you anywhere within minutes. Google ‘Copenhagen’ and you will learn about the wealth of cultural sights, ancient and modern architecture and historic places within a radius of few kilometers. Michelin restaurants, the Opera, Jazz festival – or just a swim in the harbor or a boat trip in the canals. Copenhagen, located at the seafront, holds the charm of both Berlin and Amsterdam – just safer and cleaner. Go on day-trips and see the never ending coastline, visit historical sights or picturesque villages in Denmark and southern Sweden just within 1-3 hour drive. Spend a long weekend in our Swedish farm house (also build in 1921) and walk part of the emigrate route, collect chanterelles or take a swim in one of the beautiful lakes or in the Skärgaard. Note the Danish/Swedish weather alternate quite a lot – but we are still the happiest people in the world :-).
