Our comfortable apartment is both modern, as the building is from 2014, but also with a retro mid century interior and the sense of the Danish "hygge".
The main room containing of kitchen, dining area and living room faces the southern harbour of Copenhagen. The balcony offers a sunny morning and afternoon and a nice and cool evening with a beautiful view of the lavish green Amagerbro faelled on the other side of the harbour.
With two bedrooms and a roomy bathroom the apartment easily accommodates four grown-ups and the possibility of additional beds for children.
Our apartment is a bit south of Copenhagen center, though it only takes about 10 mins on bike to be right in the middle of the city. We live right next to the water and have a great view as you can see on our photos.
It's possible to rent bikes near the Dybbølsbro station at Baisikeli, one or more days.
The area we live in is a rather new harbour area of Copenhagen developed from around 2000 and was earlier the home of old harbour industry such as a brickworks factory. The area 'Holmene' is modelled after Amsterdam with channels and bridges connecting the area and is still being developed with apartment buildings, bridges, school on it's way, the first new church in Copenhagen since the 1980ies and shops, streets food markets and supermarkets to come.
Shopping in the area: two Nettos (grocery stores), an Irma (deli grocery store), Supermarco (Italien deli), a couple of restaurants and takeaways and cafés. E.g. Café Slusen, Restaurant Vandvid, Ricco's and T's Diner. There's a street food market 'Teglværket' rive minutes by foot on Teglholmsgade and also two yoga places - Dottírs hot yoga and juice bar and Yum Yoga which serves delicious vegetation Food, brunch and baked goods. A new bakery just opened with beautiful tasty mini cakes and baked goods called Mille's Minis
The borough Vesterbro is nearby and contains an abundance of bars, restaurants, cafèes, The Meatpacking District and more.
