About our home

Our cozy 3 room apartment is located in a lively, artistic and charming neighborhood of Copenhagen, Nørrebro. The apartment is located inside a green park (Nørrebroparken), which gives a wonderful green view from all its windows despite its urban location. Our home has three bright rooms (a bedroom with a double bed, a nursery with to seperate cots/beds and a living room) and a huge dining kitchen which we use as an extra livingroom. The apartment is well equipped with bathroom, toilet, sofa, cable tv, internet, stereo, a new dishwasher and a new washing mashine. The wonderful green park surrounding the apartment has several playgrounds, volley ball pitch, basketball pitch, soccer pitch and barbecue fascilities. In the private courtyard you find barbeques, shared wooden tables and a band new playground. When you live in our apartment you can use our two bicycles (with seats for kids) - biking is an esential part of the Copenhagen experience!

More about us

  1. We are Anne and Anders, a married couple aged 33 and 35, with two little sons named Louis and Bertil (born May 2009 and September 2011). We are both working professionals - Anne is a communication consultant in the Danish Cancer Society and Anders is an IT-entrepreneur. We enjoy travelling and meet people from all over the world whenever we get the opportunity - and we like sharing the experiences with our children. We haven't done a home exchange before, but would love to try living in a "real home" with personality - and maybe get inspired to visit places we haden't thought of in the first place.

Neighbourhood

Our home is located right between two very different parts of town; the pulsating melting pot Nørrebro and the posh Frederiksberg. We live inside a green park (several kilometers long) perfect for volley ball, barbecuing, jogging, rollerskating, sunbathing and more. A part of the park "Superkilen" is designed by the famous Danish architects Bjarke Ingels Group (BIG) and with wall paintings by the street artist Shepard Fairey. Our neighborhood offers trendy shopping, art shops, second hand shops, several playgrounds, foreign foods as many cafés and top class restaurants (the Michelin restaurant Relæ is just 3 minutes walk away), several Nordic style bakeries (e.g. Meyer's Bakery made by the NOMA-people) and little alternative coffee breweries - and messy vegetable stores! Our neighbouhood is very childfriendly and cozy with 4 large playgrounds close to our home. One of our local parks is the beautiful Assistant Cemetery where e.g. Søren Kirkegaard, Hans Christian Andersen, Niels Bohr, Benn Webster are burid. Our home is just 20 minute's walk or a 5 minute's busride from the main city centres Nørreport and Rådhuspladsen, and you can easily (within 30 minutes) get to all the tourist attractions like The Little Mermaid, The Tivoli Gardens, the Canal Tours, Nyhavn (New Haven), Christiania (the free town), The Opera House, The Royak Thatre, Christiansborg, Amalienborg, restaurant NOMA (the world's best restaurant), Grundtvigskirken and more. The beach Amager Strandpark can be reached with metro, bike or car. There is free parking right outside our apartment 24/7

How to get here:
Get to/from the airport in 30 minutes! If you arrive by plane, take the metro from the Copenhagen Airport to Frederiksberg Metro Station (takes 19 minutes). Our apartment is located 1,4 kilometers from Frederiksberg Metro, so you can either walk, take a taxi or take bus 18 to the bus stop 'Borups Allé) (takes 4 minutes): See map: http://map.krak.dk/m/9DRM8
