About our home

Our home is an architect-designed one-storey house standing in its own grounds in Kolding, Denmark. Inside you find 5 bedrooms and two bathrooms (one with SPA). We live right next to Kolding city center, which is Denmarks first Design Municipality. City has many architectural sites and two universities called: Design School Kolding and University of Southern Denmark.

Right next to our home is a beautiful forest for all kinds of biking and hiking - also with a nice lake where you can go fishing. House has windows from floor to ceiling that ensures plenty of light in daytime and a great feeling of the surrounding nature. Inside of house have many rooms with all necessary equipment and focus on interior design. Outside of house is a big and private garden with terrace, children toys, playhouse, trampoline and hammock.

We have two adults’ bikes and three junior MTB bikes for 10-18 years old.

Grocery shopping is only 750 meters away. In town there is the nice Castle of Koldinghus which is now a large museum. Also we have an industrial harbour and Rebæk beach. There are nice walks by Hotel Koldingfjord where they also serve great meals. Local activities are found here: http://oplev.kolding.dk/

Depict itself as one of Denmark's friendliest towns, Kolding certainly appears welcoming—its streets lined with cherry red Danish flags that seem to be constantly waving hello. A medieval castle towers over vibrant parks that bloom with flowers and medicinal spices. On balmy days families will be grateful for SlotssøBadet, an extraordinary waterpark that's a blast for all ages. There is also a great food market at the town square (Tuesday and Friday morning) with delicious products.

Within short driving distance you will find Økolariet in Vejle (30 minutes), Legoland Billund Resort (30 minutes), HC Andersen Childhood Home in Odense (45 minutes) where you will also find a nice Zoo and other sights: http://www.visitodense.com/ln-int/funen/visitodense, Wadden Sea National Park by Esbjerg city (45 minutes) also with many offshore activities: http://www.visitesbjerg.dk/ln-int/esbjerg/esbjerg , The Old Town in Aarhus (60 minutes - 3 stars in Guide Michelin) a town with many sights: http://www.visitaarhus.dk/events/begivenheder/aarhus.

We are 40 minutes from Billund Airport and 2 hours from Hamburg Airport.

Further away from Kolding you will find Legoland Bilund Resort (40 km), Givskud Zoo (50 km), H.C Andersen Museum in Odense (70 km), Wadden Sea National Park (100 km), Egeskov Castle (100 km), The Old Town in Aarhus (100 km) and Denmark’s best golf course Lübker Golf Resort (140 km).
