About our home

We live in a townhouse with two floors - a ground floor and a basement. In the ground floor we have the kitchen and the dining room combined, two living rooms - one of them we use as a guest room and an office, and here you can easily sleep two persons. Then we also have a small bathroom. In the basement there are three bedrooms and a bathroom with a shower and washing machine and tumble dryer. We have two boys, and right now they sleep in the same bedroom, and then they use the other bedroom for playing with their toys. Here you could easily place a mattress on the floor if you need more places to sleep. In our bedroom we have a double bed.
There are 73 m2 in each floor, so there is plenty of room for a family with two or three children. We have a small garden on both sides of the house and also a garage for our car. By the way, we also have a cat - it is very friendly and lovely:-).

More about us

  1. We are a family of four people. Dad, John, is 45 years old, Chinese, but have lived in Denmark for twelve years now. He has an education within advanced computer science and is working in a company not too far from our home. Mum, Kirsten, is 42, and is Danish. She is a teacher in Primary and Secondary School.
David, 12 years old, going in his sixth year of school, and Marcus, 10 years old, going in third grade.
We love travelling, but when we go long distances we usually go to China to visit John's family there. Therefore we find home exchange a good and cheap way to see other places and still be in a homely and friendly environment.

Where is it?

Our house is located on a small and quiet road but it is very easy to go to the high way or to the bus- and trainstation. It takes less than half an hour going to the city center of Copenhagen with all its different sights. Another possibility is taking the car or train to North Sealand to see the beautiful nature and old historic towns - both Hilleroed and Elsinore are definitely worth a visit. From Elsinore you can also take the ferry to Sweden for the day.
The closest town from our house is Lyngby with a big and very fancy shopping center - only 3 kilometers away. Just use the bikes. In and around Lyngby there is also very beautiful nature with lakes and forests.
