“I had the privilege to spend 10 days in Marie-Louise's and Thomas' gorgeous home in Kongens Lyngby north of Copenhagen this July. True to the principles of Scandinavian design, the award-winning architecture of the house (built in the 1960s) is both simple and stunning, with focus on functionality. The house boasts a huge, yet secluded, garden, which gives one the feeling of staying in the countryside, even though the vibrant center of Copenhagen is only 20 minutes away. Connection by public transport to the city center and various sites in Greater Copenhagen could not be better (the 388 bus, for example, which stops virtually in front of the house, takes you directly to the amazing Louisiana Museum at Humlebaek or to "Hamlet's Castle" at Helsingor). Even the Swedish city of Malmoe can be reached easily in slightly over one hour. And if you are as lucky with the weather as I was, you can go swimming at the beautiful Bellevue Beach in nearby Klampenborg or go hiking in the lovely Dyrehave Park, which once served as the Danish Royals' hunting grounds. This huge park with wild roaming deer starts right behind the house. Communication with Marie-Louise was pleasant and easy, before, during, as well as after my stay. I also had the pleasure of meeting up, chatting with, and getting tips from her parents, who live just 100 meters away. I hope Marie-Louise's family will like Prague as much as I enjoyed Copenhagen and its environs. ”

About our home
We offer a large and beautiful house, awarded for its streamlined 60ies architectural style. The house has one master bedroom, and three childrens bedrooms, as well as two bathrooms. We have a dining room, and a large living room with an open fireplace and a grand piano. Furthermore, kitchen and washing room. All the rooms have glace from floor to roof so you almost feel like being outside in the large garden all the time. We have a wonderful cat, Findus, that we hope you will take care of. He is calm and spends most of his time during summer outside but of course also loves to have people around him and not least: to get food served:)
The parents of Marie-Louise live just 2 minutes away and are happy to assist you with practical matters and good advice for what to see.
We have a shared tennis court at the end of our road that you are welcome to use.

Marie-Louise's reviews
More about us

We are Thomas (59) and Marie-Louise (53) and maybe - maybe not (most likely!) - also our grown up children who would like to exchange house with you:) The children are Eline (18), Andreas (19) and Asger (20). And a wonderful and friendly cat that stays here:) Thomas is a professor in Climate Change at the University of Copenhagen and Marie-Louise is with the Danish Red Cross. We like hiking, listening to music and spending time with friends and family who live very close by. We have done five very successful house exchanges in France, California and Prague respectively and are now looking forward to try once again :) Homeexchange has become our absolute favorite way of travelling!
We are looking forward to share our house with you and would be very happy to help you pass a wonderful vacation at our place. The parents of Marie-Louise live close by and will be happy to assist you in any way as well as to look after our cat if you want to travel around in the country. We also have a wonderful second home in Rørvig in the northern part of Zealand, 1 hour away and 2 minutes from some of the best beaches in Denmark. You are welcome to use this house as well during your stay.

Neighbourhood
We feel that our house is next to perfectually situated - within 15 minutes by car you are at the center of Copenhagen and yet we overlook field and forest. From our garden you can access an extended area of natural reserves going all the way through Dyrehaven to the coast. It's a perfect area for walking and bycycling and of course being so close to Copenhagen it is very easy to enjoy all the cultural and historic pleasures of the old capital of Denmark. Sweden can be reached in 45 minutes over the bridge, a beach is within 10 minutes in car to 'Oresund' and some of Denmarks really great beaches are 40 minutes away following the north coast. There are many possibilities for activities: golf, canoing, walking, cyckling, tennis, all sorts of cultural events in the capital of Denmark, or the many castles or museums in the vicinity. And then of course the beaches are the favorit of the children. Our neighbour hood is quiet and friendly with nice people. Being that close to the capital we can, however, also sometimes (depending on the direction of the wind) hear the roads a bit.
