More about us

  1. We are Lene (44) and Peter (47), married couple with two children (girl 11 years, boy 13 years). Lene works as editor at a publishing house in Copenhagen. Peter as teacher (of English) at high school. We enjoy living close to the nature, go kayaking, bicycling and hiking. But as we have lived in Copenhagen for 17 years we adore going to Copenhagen and other cities with a cultural impact - galleries, book shops, museums, historical monuments, cafés etc. We did our first house swap in the summer 2010 and found it a charming way of experiencing other countries. We speak English, French and a little German. In summer 2011 we hope to swap with someone in the south of Europe - USA/Canada hopefully in 2012.

Where is it?

Neighbourhood

Sorø is located perfectly between Copenhagen and Odense (town of HC Andersen), close to the sea and yet with short distances to several main attractions of Denmark. Sorø is a typical, little Danish town, and yet an important historic and cultural town, today's capital of the department with art and historic museums, three lakes with touristboat and a bathing jetty perfect for children. In the park you find the Academy (middleage covent, later on academy for the ecucation of the king's knights, a beloved place for H.C. Andersen and Ludvig Holberg, today high school) and a middle age church with the grave of Absalon (founder of Copenhagen). Train goes directly to Copenhagen and Odense in 45 minutes, to Roskilde in 20 minutes. Sorø has a wonderful golf court, several lakes and a river nearby superb for canoeing. Perfect bicycle paths in the forest, by the lakes and by the river.
