About our home

Our cozy little cottage, 200m from the sea in perfectly situated in the most desirable town, Svaneke on the gorgeous Danish holiday island of Bornholm.
Our home has a lovely little garden, fully equipped for a summer grill and for an excellent play space for children. with nice designer furniture and all the basic amenities you require for a family home.

Svaneke is a little fishing village with a quirky art and ceramics scene and a rising Nordic culinary scene.
With a tiny population of just over a 1000, it's got an outstanding number of businesses that claim their way to fame.
You have Svaneke Is, Svaneke Bolcher etc.
The local produce is of the highest quality and rated as some of the best in the country. Full of chocolateries, bakeries, smokeries etc.
We have some excellent local breweries esp. the Svaneke brewery next door and even a Michelin starred restaurant, Kadeau on the island.
Architecturally its been rated as one of the best preserved villages. It's unique with its red-roofed house and old half timber houses.

Nature wise, it's a solid granite rock island with a variation of rocky, hilly landscapes, lovely beaches- some of the best in the area, magical forests. Basically, a real paradise. It shall have to be experienced.
People care about their surroundings, it's known as a green and sustainable island. Very thoughtful. Very Danish.

Historically, its very interesting and recognised for it's many round churches and a castle from the tenth century.
You can see old wind mills, farms etc.

Bornholm is situated between Germany, Poland, Sweden and Denmark.
You can travel here, by a 35 min flight from Copenhagen, but the fun way is taking a train/bus and then a ferry through Sweden.

I love the fact that the little farms leave their produce outside their farms and hope that the people would pay the recommended rate. Turns out it does work. This sense of safety is beautiful and rare, the 'hygge' or coziness that the Danes are so on about! :)
