Ours is a light-filled vintage one bedroom flat in Valby, a charming neighbourhood ten minutes by train from Copenhagen city centre. Our primary home is about an hour away, so we use this on weekends and other times we want to be in Copenhagen. The kitchen appliances are all less than two years old and there is a washing machine in the flat. There are cafes, shops and parks a quick walk away, and we live across from the train and bus stations.
The flat is on the third floor without a lift.
One important note: our kitchen is meat free. Fish is fine, but no meat can be cooked in our kitchen.
We are a middle aged couple that love to travel, explore and learn. Jan is an university professor and Rebecca works with an NGO on diversity and multicultural issues. We live in Malmö, Sweden but keep this flat in Copenhagen because it is Jan's native city and we love its cultural riches.
Valby is like a small town within the city of Copenhagen. There is a large variety of shops and restaurants a stones throw away (not to mention bakeries for Danish pastries), along with three supermarkets and two gyms. Two large parks are nearby for runs and walks. The rest of Copenhagen is easy to access by train or bus from just across the street.
