I have a beautiful one-bedroom apartment. It's nicely furnished and well-equipped (dishwasher, washing machine, small tumble dryer, wireless internet). You can use the building's sauna privately for an hour on Saturday evenings (there is also a communal sauna time on Wednesday evenings - 2hrs for men, 2 hrs for women) .
It is a perfect size for two (62 m2), comfortable for three, and manageable for four. There is a double bed in the bedroom (140cm), the sofa is big enough & comfortable enough for someone to sleep on, and I have an air mattress as a spare.
Jyväskylä is a very pleasant, large town in central Finland with 80,000 inhabitants. It has a vibrant town centre, but also plenty of beautiful lake and forest areas within walking distance of the apartment. You'll find more information at this link: http://jyväskylänseutu.fi/travel. It's a great place to visit if you want to have a quiet holiday where nature is easily accessible (beautiful forests and numerous lakes) but still want to be close to shopping, restaurants, cafes etc.
My apartment is in a good area about a 10min walk to the university, 15-20min walk to the centre, and a 15min walk to the nearest lake. It's a sort of central suburb, with a mixture of apartment buildings, quiet lanes with family houses, and grocery stores and take-aways. There's also a bus stop right outside the apartment building, with regular buses going to and from the centre, as well as to and from a small ski resort (Laajavuori).
* The 1000 Lakes Rally (or Neste Oil Rally) takes place in Jyväskylä in mid August.*
I've done one summer home exchange already to the Netherlands, which was a great experience! The family I exchanged with loved Finland and Jyväskylä! I've also rented my place out a few times on airbnb, with very good feedback.
I have a very friendly little dog, who could stay with friends during the exchange if you are not a dog lover. I'm happy to look after a pet during an exchange myself.
I'm very tidy and love my home. I would take care of yours with the same respect!
