About our home

We have a nice house build in late 1950's. The house has been largely renovated in 1990's. Upstairs we have a toilet, adults bedroom with double-bed and children's room with bunkbed and double sofa-bed. In the groundfloor there is kitchen (renovated 2010), diningroom, livingroom with fireplace, inner terrace and toilet. In the basement there is bedroom/office with big sofa double-bed, toilet, utilityroom, sauna and bathroom with showers and a large bathtube. In our courtyard we have some apple-, spruce-, birch-, hazel-trees. Summertime we use to plant a small garden with different sallads, strawberry, pea, dill etc.

Our home is also easily reached from Helsinki Airport. There is a Airportbus that goes to our town 24 times a day. The busdrive takes about one hour. The bus-stop is about 700 meters from our house.

More about us

My wife and I are in our mid-thirties. I work in a bank and my wife runs a kids home daycare business. We are a christian family with two daughters Miisa 7 years and Mandi 5 years.
Hobies/interests: Miisa goes ones a week to local gymnastic-club for training, she also takes piano lessons in Lohja music-school.(her grand-mother is a piano teacher). Mandi is about to start learning to play piano or violin will see.. maybe later also gymnastics.
We both like music, I play guitar and sing like my wife in a small musicgroup. We also like to travel and see new places and cultures, historical places, meet local people, taste local food, take sunbath and do some sports etc. My wife is also very keen to shopping (what a suprise!), but she is also a very good budget shopper. That is a good quality of her.
This year (2010) we made our first home exchange to France. We enjoyed our exchange. We are openminded and eager to see different places and cultures.

Where is it?

Neighbourhood

We live in city suburb about 3 km from the Lohja centre and it is a quiet and nice neigbourhood around us with lot's of small houses with gardens and threes. There lives about 30 000 people in Lohja area. Lohja is about 60 from Helsinki

What to see in Lohja: There are many lakes and beaches in Lohja area with activities like canoing, swimming, jogging in the hillside (Lohja ridge), rollerskateing (good and long cycleroads) and sailing. You can cycle to quiet lakeside sandbeach about 1,5 km from the house. We have 2 adults bycicles and two kid's bycicles. Grass football field is 600 m from the house. if you are sporty enough you can go around Lohja Lake (90 km) in one/two days (in case you need a tent, we have one).
