“A lovely apartment in a convenient location within easy walking distance to all that the beautiful city of Avignon has to offer. The apartment is tastefully decorated, well equipped, has lovely comfortable beds and good Wifi. We loved the vibrant colours of the kitchen, with the matching red accessories. Monika has thought of everything with many thoughtful touches and was a great communicator throughout. You can drop off luggage outside the apartment and there is then a 10-minute walk to plenty of free parking just outside the city walls with regular ‘navettes’ (shuttle buses) back into the city. Avignon is a great location for trips to nearby towns and villages. We recommend the magnificent Roman city of Nîmes, medieval Uzѐs, and the World Heritage site the Pont du Gard, the highest Roman aqueduct bridge, well worth a whole day’s visit. ”

About our home
Set within the city walls and only a 5 minute stroll from all the sights, my house overlooks a lovely square. It dates from the 18th century and was lovingly restored a few years ago using local traditional materials.
There is free parking nearby and the whole of Provence is virtually on your doorstep.
Depending on the number of people and the length of the stay, there is a cleaning charge of € 60-100 to be paid in cash on arrival or departure.

Monika's reviews
As a host (3)“This was our first swap and surely no other will be as good. Monika, the host, was excellent in her communications with us. She was always available with quick reply and could send friends for help with anything if needed. The apartment has all the charm you hope for to match the charming city. On the ground floor is a different apartment and then you walk up to the first floor - full kitchen, huge living and dining room, and modern shower room. Second floor is three bedrooms, and then a few stairs higher is a bigger modern bathroom with washer. We traveled with babies and did not have issue with the stairs, especially since all rooms have a door before the staircase. If you are traveling with children though, this home is beautifully antique so only go if you are okay with taking extra steps to protect the home. Monika was able to get us a crib, and we brought our own child’s high chair, protective sheets to go on couch, moved anything fragile out of the way, sectioned off an area for play, so on. So you need to take extra care of the home if you bring children, but worth it in my opinion. There is good wifi, good enough my husband worked from there the whole time. And there are areas to work from. There are fans in each bedroom and the living room. The hot water was good and pressure of both showers was good as well. There is a tv, dishwasher, full fridge + freezer, coffee machine, kettle, toaster, washing machine, two showers, one bathtub, space and rack to hang clothes. But best of all LOCATION!!! Right outside is a beautiful square, surely one of the most beautiful in Avignon, with a remarkable church and almost every restaurant in the square has top reviews for the city. The Saturday market also starts at this square and runs all the way to the carousel. Just below the apartment is an upscale restaurant and bar popular with locals called Barrio. They have amazing staff there and the desserts are the best in Avignon. Around the corner you have Trinquets which is great, but our personal favorite day and night is Mon Bar - truly the watering hole of all the locals to gather and run by the hardest working man around. Also the carrefour for groceries, pharmacy, and boulangerie for your daily baguette are also right there next to Mon Bar. You are in a local neighborhood and then as you walk down the same road as Mon Bar you will get to the boutique and high end shops before reaching the carousel and popes Palais, ten minute walk to those maybe. Or take a different turn out of the apartment for a nice easy walk along the water to the famous bridge. Las Halles is a proper French food market even closer than the carousel. We did decide to rent a car a few days to see Provence - parking very near the apartment can be hard to find but drive just a short distance and you will find loads of parking. You pay per hour to park in the zone and then the parking is free overnight. Anyway as you can tell we deeply loved this home. We stayed almost a month and I hope to go back again.”
“Everything went brilliantly! Monika is a great host - extremely organized and caring. We loved our time at her place and really appreciated her efforts to make everything easy on her guests.”
