About our home

The house is located in the village in a very quiet street. It has a private courtyard (with a lime tree) where you can put tables and chairs, a ping pong table, a hammock (but not your car please!).
The house has been recently renovated. It is a holiday house of about 100 m2.
Ground floor: A large room of about 45 m2 with bay-windows looking to the courtyard, fitted kitchen (without dishwasher!). Radio, CD player. Toilets. Little «technical room» with a washing machine.
First floor: two rooms of about 22 m2 each. In each room a bed and a table as desk to write or work. One bathroom (with a shower and toilets).
Bedding: ground floor, one of the two sofas is convertible; first floor, one 140 cm wide bed and one 120 cm wide bed (also the house sleeps 5-6).

More about us

We (university professor and literary translator living in Paris most of time, 52 and 61 years old and not retired) wish to live in Berlin for a few months for personal and professional reasons. We both are native of Provence, we love this country and hope you will love it too.
Our home is not full of antiques so it is a good place for a family to be. We will treat yours with respect.
We look for a flat in Berlin during two months (June/July 2011) with at least two bedrooms; we shall be two persons most of the time, but we should like that the flat can accommodate too 5-6 persons so that family or friends can come to visit us for some days.
We can exchange our house during one or two months, and not necessarily at the same time as it is a holyday house. Make us proposals!

Where is it?

Bedoin is a lovely and typical village of Provence at the bottom of Mont Ventoux surrounded by nice landscapes made above all of olive trees and vine yeards.
In June the spring is beautiful and the climate is very mild so that one can make nice hikings in the country or the mountain. As the Mont Ventoux is about 2000 m high it has a very varied vegetation and atmospheres.
A lot of famous places can be easily discovered from Bedoin, such as Avignon (40 km), Arles and Nimes (80 km), Marseilles (110 km), Vaison-la-Romaine (15 km)... and the Mediterranean Sea (100 km).
In July there are many famous cultural events near to Bedoin such as a huge theatre festival in Avignon, the International Photography Meeting in Arles, etc. Enjoy the contrast between the crowd of Festivals and the peace and quiet of the house even during the summer.
You can find in Bedoin all kinds of shops: two little supermarkets, two butcher shops (one organic), an organic shop, international newspapers, more than 10 restaurants and bars, drugstore, doctors etc. etc.; many municipal cultural and sportive activities; every Monday a big and popular market with local products. The very nice municipal swimming pool (3 minutes on foot from the house) opens in summer from 15th June. In front of the swimming pool: two tennis courts.
