About our home

WE ARE LOOKING FOR NON-SIMULTANEOUS EXCHANGES. We offer hospitality in our two-hundred year old French country house which has a private courtyard, surrounded by our extensive grounds (for our horses) and gardens. We have a magnificent view of the Alps. We offer a big bedroom with double bed, and two bunk beds, private bathroom with shower, toilet and basin, and view of the Alps. We have a big lounge with television, kitchen and dining room, and high-speed internet access. We have horses, dogs, cats, a goat, chickens, all very friendly. The view is breathtaking - all across the valley to the Alps

More about us

  1. We are a family of five (Polish and English), two boys 22 and 20 and one girl 17 and we speak English, French, Italian, Spanish, Polish, German. We run a translation business from home so will be there to looks after guests. We have horses, dogs, cats and chickens, all very friendly and used to meeting people and showing them our lovely and little-known part of France. However we never all travel together (can't leave the animals) so someone is always here in the main house, which is handy for language problems, and if visitors need any help or information. URGENT: We are currently looking for accommodation for me (mother!) and daughter in Milan from 14 - 18 April as my son's project is being exhibited at the Salone del Mobile. All offers gratefully accepted !

Where is it?

Our village Ardosset is on a hill and benefits from its own microclimate. To the south is a panoramic view of the Alps and Savoie, and to the north rolling countryside going up to the Jura mountains. No fog, no pollution, sunny summers! We are 10 minutes from a main line railway station with regular connections to Paris (3 hours), Lyon and Geneva. Our main village has a baker, church, restaurant and grocery shop. Supermarkets and all other shops and hospital are 10 minutes drive. We are one hour from all of the following: Lyon, Geneva, Annecy, Bourg en Bresse, and 30 minutes from Aix le Bains and Le Lac du Bourget. Hiking and long no-road walks start straight from the house and there is safe swimming 20 minutes away in the crystal clear water of the Lac de Bourget. Sports include: horse riding, cycling, canoeing, jogging, walking and hiking, skiing, bowling, tennis ....
