About our home

You'll be staying in an apartment which is integral to our old farmhouse; this itself sits on its own mound of land, with all round views of countryside. We'd emphasise that there's private access to the apartment which is self-contained. The principal apartment rooms are large and bright; they look out towards the village. Original features abound, whilst the accommodation is modern, clean and comfortable.

More about us

We are Mary and Mike, and we're retirees from UK., living in France. Travel is one of our main interests and we tend to go to Australia during the European winter. Other 'Long Haul' destinations do attract us from time to time. We have a son who lives for the time being in Sydney and we have other relatives in NSW.

Where is it?

Neighbourhood

The distance between our property and the village of Cereste is 2 Km., and there's a footpath or a main road alternative for getting there; our guests like the option of walking into the village to buy croissants for their breakfasts. The village enjoys the benefit of two excellent but reasonably priced restaurants, a butcher's shop, a pharmacy, two grocery shops, ATM., post office, two boulangeries, three bars, and a small hotel. We are located in the Parc du Luberon and all around is set out for walks, easy through to hard; the absolutely charming villages of Saignon, Menerbes, Lacoste, Gordes and Bonnieux, are all very close by. Slightly further afield are the historic towns of Nimes, Arles, Aix-en-Provence, Orange and Avignon, mostly with major Roman sites. Marseilles and the general 'South of France' or 'Cote d'Azur' towns and beaches are more than an hour's drive away. The Southern Alps start to the North and East from the property, an hour's drive away.
