About our home

We offer a beautiful, homely, traditional wooden apartment in a chalet, 10 minutes walk from the centre of Chamonix. The apartment has two bedrooms, with one double bed and one single/double (pull-out half). Two other bunk beds are situated in the lobby. There is a living room with fully equipped corner kitchen, sofa and TV/DVD, opening onto a seperate loggia (glazed but with fully opening bistro windows) with a magnificent view of Mont Blanc.

There is underfloor heating under traditional tiled floors, warm and cosy in winter, cool in summer.

The apartment shares a large garden with two other apartments, enclosed for small children and dogs.

Update: the apartment is now rented out for the Winter season, from the end of December to the middle of May, so is only available for early season skiing in December. We are a high resort and some lifts are open from the end of November

More about us

  1. We are an English couple (aspirant accompagnateur and an English teacher and translator), living with our two teenage children in the Chamonix valley. We love all mountain activities, as well as gardening and just being in the open air. This is a wonderful place to live and we rarely leave the valley if we can help it, but we would like to visit some other parts of Europe after 20 years here. We thoroughly recommend this valley in every season, but particularly in Spring and Autumn, when the colours are truly spectacular. There is a lot to do here all year round for sportsmen and for those who prefer ro relax and do nothing. We have never been bored!

Where is it?

This beautiful, bustling mountain town lies at the foot of the spectacular Mont Blanc, and its amazing hanging Glacier des Bossons. Our village is a short walk from the historic town centre, but provides an oasis of peace and calm even at the height of the season.

A full range of summer and winter activities are available and readily accessible from the chalet. The tennis, golf and sports clubs are within easy reach of the chalet, as is the swimming pool, saunas and hammams. There are two museums, art exhibitions, and a lot of live music.

There are many superb restaurants and bars, with a Savoyard or international flavour. A cinema in the town centre shows popular films in English and French as well as hosting a selection of locally produced and international mountain films during the Summer and Winter seasons. There are always lively events organised by the town and private organizers, all year round, throughout the resort.

There is easy access to Geneva (Switzerland) -1.25 hours by car or minibus transport and Aosta (Italy, via the tunnel) - 40 minutes.

We love this valley - we have been either on holiday or living here for 20 years, and have never been bored - in fact, it is an effort to leave even for a holiday.
