Our home is called "the Ladybugs" or "the Ladybirds". It was a former nonnery built in 1890 in the "Arts and Crafts" style. It has six bedrooms and three bathrooms. We have a large kitchen and dining room opened on the living room. There is a patio area for al fresco dining (barbecue included), and a lovely garden with a swing, a trampoline, a table tennis, an herb garden, two appletrees (apples in August and September) and a cherrytree (Cherries in June). The place was entirely refurbished in 2006. It is very spacious and light, has old wooden floors throughout and stained-glass windows. The chimney is great for Christmas and All Saints. It is a very bright and sunny house with large windows. There is also a piano and lots of books.
Pierre (37) works as a business development manager and I (40)work as a chartered accountant. We enjoy travelling, classical music, reading, cooking, gardening, cycling, meeting new people and discovering new ways of life: it's so enriching! We will be travelling with our 3 daughters Marguerite, Marie-Aimee, Josephine, 12, 10, 8 who all play music (flute, piano, choir and tuba) and with our son Aubin, 4. This is our first time doing a home exchange. We are excited to experience that new way to discover another country as a resident - and allow someone to visit ours. Our open travel dates are All Saints, Christmas, Easter, Summer from the beginning of July to the end of August, and weekends (in Europe) throughout the year. We look forward to hearing from you.
We are in a very nice and calm suburb of Paris, 20' from the centre of Paris (The Champs Elysees, the Louvre) by public transport or driving. You will find all accommodations needed for your stay : daily shoppings, butcher, grocery, a delicious bakery where you can buy your morning croissants... There are also some very nice restaurants. On Wednesdays and Saturdays, you can walk to a typical marketplace to buy fresh fruits and vegetables. We'll leave you a list of our favorite places around. Very close to the house, you'll find the most convenient trains and bus stops: you can consider a day trip to Versailles (45 mn by train) or to Eurodisney (50 mn by train).
