Central France Loire Valley (140km south of Paris)

If you would like to live in a traditional 200-year old farmhouse in a hamlet of four cottages around a large pond in peaceful surroundings then this is the place for you. Restoration is complete. The farmhouse stands in 5000sq m of land; the pond with its various water birds and coypu family provide endless entertainment as do the visiting red deer and pheasants. We are surrounded by views of an ever-changing landscape of undulating fields and woods and enjoy total tranquility in this rural environment. The single storey farmhouse is entered from the end of a lane into a spacious country style dining/kitchen; adjacent is a large walk-in pantry. A cosy sitting room has a wood-burning stove, TV and Hi-Fi and we have a substantial library, a collection of classical, operatic and jazz CD's and DVD's. French windows at either end of the sitting room allow access to the pond on one side and the sunken terrace and orchard on the other. The bedroom/study is large(6m x 5.5m) with a king-sized bed, en-suite bathroom with double bath, shower and views of the garden. A trundle bed is available for a third person; there is a second bathroom with shower and w.c. in the workshop adjacent to the kitchen. A sunken terrace with a vine-shaded pergola and a wooden table that seats eight is accessed from the kitchen, the living room and the bedroom. There is a small vegetable garden and an orchard; the grass is cut by our handyman. We own the property.
