“During this weekend, everything was as described by Flavie. The house is very nice, spacious, comfy and located in a very calm area. We went to Gaillac to see The Festival of the Lanterns, and it was very nice. During our weekend Flavie stayed in touch with us to be certain that everything was ok. It was a very nice weekend. Thank you Flavie and Marc.”

About our home
Sorry . We have found an exchange for summer 2019 . Our house dates back to the nineteenth century. It used to be the blacksmith's house and is located in a little hamlet surrounded by vineyards. It is only 3 kms away from Gaillac , the nearest village .
It overlooks the square in the village . All the main rooms (kitchen, dining area, living room, 3 bedrooms and two bathrooms) are upstairs. There is also a study downstairs with a high quality sofa bed and toilets and another room with a couch , a big screen TV and a billiard table which opens unto the garden. The whole house is fully equipped and people say it is cosy.
The summer here is usually sunny and hot but you will no doubt enjoy our brand new heated swimming-pool and the dining area outside which is in the shade !Please , do notice that the swimming-pool has an alarm but is not fenced so it could be dangerous for unsupervised Young children .

Flavie's reviews
As a host (10)“Flavie , Marc and their lovely daughters are great host. Thanks a lot Flavie for inviting us to your place and taking care of us though our program didn\'t fit in exchange program. Flavie took us around and showed us some of the places. Flavie\'s place is in a quiet place. There are lovely vineyards and easy to take a walking trip through them. There are a couple of places of interest near Galliac. Would recommend Flavie\'s home . We would be happy to host them in India. Once again thanks a lot Flavie and Marc for such a wonderful time.”
“We had an awesome exchange with Flavie and her family in February 2015. We stayed for a week in their charming home, in a peaceful village between vineyards. We enjoyed the food, wine and beautiful villages around Gaillac and the kids loved feeding their cat Caramel. We were warmly welcomed by the family and our stay was a great success. As we told them, we can't wait to go back again and see the landscape changing through the seasons. Thanks a lot for exchanging with us!”
Debora e Giovanni”
“This swap was awesome. We shared a great dinner at Flavie & Marc's which made us feel immediately at home. Their girls are Super sweet. The house in Gaillac is big, beautiful and cozy and very convenient to explore the beautiful (and tasty!) Tarn area. There are lots of towns to visit and plans to do, and the family was great giving tips and ideas. Flavie managed to find all we needed for the baby so we could travel light and she was extra helpful when our kid fell sick for a couple of days and we went to their doctor. our house was spotless when we came back. A fantastic swap with an experienced family who made it so easy and nice for us newcomers. Also: we went in Xmas and the weather (despite the bad reports) ended up being great, sunny and beautiful. Thanks for everything!”
“We spent a fantastic 2 weeks in Flavie and Marc's house in Gaillac this Summer. The house itself is really lovely to stay in and is topped off by a fantastic shaded outdoor living space and a beautiful swimming pool - a must for the gorgeous weather! It's a perfect haven for a family. Flavie's family are very lucky to live in a very beautiful area of France, surrounded by many fantastic medieval villages, chateaus and vineyards that all must be seen. Within striking distance are the super cities of Toulouse and Castres, that really cannot be missed. We spent many happy days swimming and picnicking in nearby lakes and paddling in the Aveyron river. By evening time, we visited the many markets, concerts and outdoor events that were organized by the lovely people of this countryside. Our trip was topped off by the amazing Gaillac wine festival that ran for our last weekend there - a fantastic event that had something for everyone in our family. Flavie's hospitality and generosity are unequaled and the comprehensive itinerary and information on the area that she prepared for us made the holiday. It was a pleasure to liase with her and her family and I would highly recommend them for an exchange.”
“We have spent one week during the Christmas' holidays at Flavie and Marc's home, and we have really enjoyed it. The house is very comfortable, even at winter time. And the family prepared us a warm welcome dinner for our first night in the house, which was of course a very good starting point for the holidays! Flavie, Marc, and their daughters are really easy-going, and we all (adults and children) enjoyed this meeting. Flavie has prepared a very useful booklet with recommendations and routes for doing during the stay, and getting a deep knowledge of the area, appart from the more touristic sites. We could visit some markets, bought wine at local producers, and did some walks in the nearby forests and catar villages. Of course, visiting Albi and Toulouse was also a must, that we highly enjoyed. During the cold evenings, our children spent hours playing with the whole range of Playmobil and Petshop toys, while we relaxed cooking or watching some of the dozens of DVDs that were available. We can only recommend any exchange with Flavie, Marc, and their children. They are a lovely family, and so is their home... warm, comfortable, and welcoming!”
“It was our first home exchange and we couldn't have asked for a better place to stay at and friendlier people to swap with. We were trapped by the Tarn region. The Michel family were very warm and kind to us. Their welcome gift was extraordinary. They let us even stay in their house for two more nights after they went back home. They personally took us and show us places we hadn't visited. They introduced us to their friends and spent some time with them, which I really appreciated. We were provided with plenty of useful information about places to visit and things to do with children. The house was in a very convenient location, in a hamlet very near Gaillac. Highly recommended! I think they will be our friends forever.”
“Flavie & Marc's home is a great home with lot's of space inside and outside. We felt very comfortable and our children had a great time playing outside on the swing or in the swimming pool. The location is ideal for exploring beautiful village like Albi, Cordes sur ciel and Toulouse. Even the village close by, Gaillac has a lot of character. We already had wonderful email contact with the very chatty and welcoming host Flavie early on in the process. At the end of the exchange Flavie and Marc cooked us a wonderful meal and. I am sure we will meet each other again in the not so distant future either at our place or theirs.”
More about us
-
We are Marc and Flavie ( in our forties ) with two lovely daughters (born in 2003 and 2006). We always answer the offers we get as we think it shows some respect to those who took some of their time to read your ad and send you an email . That's the very first step to a nice swap , isn't it ?
We love travelling and think swapping our house is the best way to discover new places and meet new people.
I teach English in a secondary school and my husband manages the bus network in Albi. We enjoy life very much and prize love, friendship and new discoveries a lot.
We have kept in touch with many of our previous exchange partners and some of them have even become friends! We always try our best to make our guests feel at home and enjoy their stay .
We are very eager to discover your place and meet you , so don't hesitate to contact us!
By the way , a fourth member has recently been added to our family : we now have a she cat . She's shy but nice and clean . She 's very easy to look after as she spends her nights out ( In winter Miss Caramel however , prefers to stay in !

Where is it?
Neighbourhood
Boissel is a little hamlet 2 kms away from a medieval village called Gaillac (where you'll be able to find shops and nice restaurants). It is famous for its wine (By the way , there is some very good quality and nice tasting wine across the street from our house !!). The area here is very nice, especially if you like medieval villages and towns. There are 8 classified medieval villages around Gaillac and Albi ( which is famous for its cathedral and medieval center) has recently been enlisted on the Unesco world heritage list.
From the house , you can easily walk and cross the vineyards to reach the Mauriac castle .
In summer, it is very sunny and you can go canoeing either in the Tarn valley or in the Aveyron gorges. There is also a fun park called "cap decouverte" near Carmaux . As it is usually hot during the day in summer , lots of markets , apéro concerts , walks and visits are organized in the evening ; which is nice .
In winter, Albi (where the famous French painter: Toulouse Lautrec was born ) is well decorated and organizes many fun events at Christmas for children. There is also a very big funfair in February to celebrate the carnival. Gaillac is now also famous in december and january for its Chinese light festival which is really worth a visit !
Toulouse is a very nice city which is 35 minutes away (Apart from all the historical places, it has a very big rugby stadium and a very nice air space museum ).
Carcassonne which is the best medieval city in France is only one hour and 15 minutes away .
If after all these visits, you still want to take your car: the Tarn Gorges, the Millau bridge, the Lot valley and the sea are 2 to 2h30 away.
There are four airports in the area : Toulouse ( main flights and easyjet ) , Rodez ( Ryanair ) , Castres ( mostly for Paris ) and Carcassonne ( Easyjet ) .
