About our home

If it’s time to slow down and recharge those batteries, then this is the perfect retreat. Get back to nature in the Alsace with a stay in this enchanting chalet set in its own secluded forest grounds.

The chalet is situated in the small mountain village of Geishouse and provides an ideal location for visiting the mountains and lakes of this beautiful Eastern corner of France. It is also just a short drive from the vineyards and pretty wine villages that flank the foothills. Alternatively, just unwind in the landscaped forest garden, soak up the surrounding scenery and fresh air with a chilled glass of local bubbly. Or the unpronounceable but delicious Gewurtztraminer - life really can’t get much better than this. Don’t forget to keep a look-out for the wild deer that pass through.

Geishouse (600 - 800m) is a south-facing village situated above the small town of Saint Amarin and below the Grand Ballon Mountain (1400m). There are both a restaurant and a farmhouse inn in the village.

Supermarkets, Post Offices and banks can be found in nearby Moosch (3 km) and Saint Amarin (5km).

Cycling paths, Swimming (Pool and lakes), Water sports, Fishing, Pony-riding, Hang-gliding, Sight-seeing are all nearby.

There is heaps to visit in the Alsace. There are lakes, mountains and wine routes. The pretty Alsatian towns of Thann, Mulhouse, and Colmar are all just a short drive away. Strasbourg (capital of the Alsace), Basel (in Switzerland) and Freibourg (in Germany) can all be visited on day trips, as can the popular German theme park, the 'Europa Park'.

Our gorgeous forest home was completely renovated in 2014, with new contemporary furniture , underfloor heating and a cosy wood fire. You'll feel snug in the chalet as a couple, though with two spacious double rooms (one en-suite) and 2 singles, the house easily accommodates a family or group of 6.

The chalet (120m²) comprises of:

• Living room/dining area - lounge furniture including sofa and chairs, TV, DVD player, radio/CD player, dining table and chairs.
• Kitchen – open-plan, well-equipped with gas stove and electric oven, dishwasher, fridge-freezer.
• Bathroom and WC – fully tiled, spacious walk-in shower and hung wc
• Bedroom 1 - one double bed, wardrobe and cupboard-space
• Bedroom 2 - one double bed, ensuite bathroom with walk-in shower and wc
• South-facing balconies - ideal for breakfast al fresco

• Bedroom 3 - one single bed
• Bedroom 4 – one single bed

• Large enclosed garden of 2 500m².
• Parking space for several cars.
• Outside eating area with table, chairs and parasol
• Utilities area with washing machine, tumble dryer, large double sink
• Additional garden furniture
