We bought Mas Peonie in 2008 as a holiday/future retirement project but when Bassem was posted to Nigeria, I headed off to France with 4 children, 2 dogs and lots of baggage in tow with the view to making it our home. I can't lie to you, it was a mix of joy and tears especially as I didn't know a soul and couldn't speak a word of french (I have no idea what I was thinking at the time!). What I can tell you is that it was worth it, after 2 years of renovation we think it is the perfect family getaway and hope you do to.

Mas Péonie has been completely renovated throughout. Retaining it's gorgeous facade of thick hand cut local stones, it's a spacious villa that oozes character and feels very homely. Sitting comfortable in grounds of more than 35,000sqft, it is surrounded by olive trees and has fabulous views. As it was our home, it is fully equipped for both adults and children alike from the kitchen gadgets to the shelves packed with books, dvd's and wi games in the media room.

Set in a calm and tranquil setting you will enjoy complete privacy, the villa offers secure child friendly gardens, meaning that the whole property is fenced and there is additional security with the swimming pool also being fenced together with a security gate to avoid any little ones wandering in unsupervised. Over 5 large terraces you will discover an array of trees including ancient Olive Trees, cherry, fig, apricot, plum, kumquat…. or perhaps you will find one of several hammocks anchored between trees to climb into and escape. It really is a great retreat, a wonderful place to paint and be creative, or sit back and relax!

We have a magnificent pool of 12m x 4m with expansive terraces bordered with beautiful stone arches and a secure fence with gates; there are plenty of sun loungers and sofa's to sit and relax with sunshine throughout the day.

To ensure new guests find the property in tip top condition, there is an end of stay cleaning/laundry charge of €350, Mid-stay cleaning or your own cook can be arranged in advance for an hourly rate, or hire a yacht or helicopter! No request too small. We can even arrange for a local photographer to capture your moment with a photoshoot which is something we did recently with a family reunion.

We can arrange a cot and high chair ask for availability.

Longer term rentals considered, price upon application.

The house you wish you owned....

A beautiful house set in a gorgeous location. The house is spacious, decorated immaculately and has everything you could ever want. It is surrounded by perfect scenery and with easy access to the coastal towns. We are a family of five that and were joined by some friends to make nine in total. Never did we feel fact we kept discovering new elements to the house the longer we stayed. The gardens are lovely and the pool is first kids returned home with webbed feet as they spent so much time in there. All in all, a wonderful place....the type of place I wish I could own and visit month after month and year after year. Tracy was also extremely helpful not only whilst we were there but also in the build out, providing very good tips and recommendations on places to visit, restaurants to eat at etc.

A French Oasis

This was truly a remarkable place to stay. Tracy was so welcoming and the home was beyond our expectations. It was warm and inviting. The area was unbeatable. The best of both family adored the aesthetic of the house, the amenities, especially the heated pool, and the spacious kitchen. We could not have asked for a more perfect vacation. We left with loving memories, and a stomach full of food. We truly had a wonderful time. Mas Peonie is perfect for families looking for a little haven to call their own.

Beautiful villa. The house is gorgeous.

Loved it. We stayed with friends and although we were 4 couples, there was lots of room. I think we agree that we will stay again if possible. We enjoyed the house, as well as the surrounding area. The restaurants, markets and local villages are charming. We have wonderful memories of our time at Mas Peonie.

A very special place!

This was a place that my wife and I along with 3 other couples celebrated our 30th anniversary. We were initially apprehensive about feeling too crowded but the space was more than enough, the facilities were clean and modern, the views that would meet us all through the day were uplifting bordering on the spectacular.Everything worked. The place was quiet and serene. The drive to the center of town was a mere 7-10 minutes and there were several towns within 30 minutes from Grasse that we enjoyed visiting with delightful open markets and great restaurants. The pool was spacious but not heated and the driveway was a bit steep so getting in and out required some maneuvering. We have had great memories of the place and will recommend it highly to anybody who is looking for a charming stay especially with a group as the place can easily accommodate more than 10 people .

A truly South of France experience

Right as we drove into the property we became mesmerized by the beauty of its location and its stunning view. Entering into this home with all the comforts of a top class hotel we felt at home instantly. I so enjoyed using a modernized provencal kitchen whilst getting glimpses of the view outside the kitchen door....somewhat romantic really.

The bedrooms are all tastefully decorated and are comfortable and spacious. The bathrooms are large and no expense has been spared with the fittings therefore making a soak in a ball and claw bath with a glass of wine whilst on holiday even more fitting to a well deserved break.

The location of the home is ideal to enjoy the glamour of Cannes (25min) and St. Tropez only an hour away, the Alps just behind Nice take just 90 min and a small ski village is only 45min away too. There is so much choice - sports, recreation, shopping, sight seeing all in close proximity - but even a lazy day wont take you more than a few steps to a large pool with great loungers.

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and will be back again soon, great value and a high end villa/home experience.

Amazing stay in an unforgettable villa

We had a wonderful stay. The property is even more lovely then the pictures. We went as two couples but immediately remarked that we could have brought our children and still had lots of space. It is very relaxed with several different places to spend time if you are a group and would like a quiet moment. The covered deck is wonderful and we had our coffee every morning and our dinner at night, if we stayed in, enjoying the view. The pool is like a resort pool but very private. Neighbors can not see you. It has comfortable chairs and cushioned couches so we enjoyed reading and brought appetizers and drinks down in the late afternoon. The bedrooms we used were very comfortable and spacious as were the bathrooms. We are from Canada and used to a lot of space so for us this was wonderful, as often hotel accommodation is very small in Europe. It was very quiet at night and relaxing. Good restaurants and activities were very close and we spent most days doing a little exploring of nearby villages as well as time in Nice, Cannes and St Tropez. Our stay seemed very short as there is so much to do in the area and we also just enjoyed spending time at the house enjoying the company of our friends in such a beautiful atmosphere. It was one of the most memorable trips we have had and definitely the nicest house we have ever stayed in. I find hotels noisy and cramped and would always prefer to stay in a villa where possible. It was impeccably maintained and a manager met us and answered all our questions. I contacted her during our stay and she responded immediately to our requests. I can not say enough good things about this villa. Stay as long as you can here, as you will not ever be bored and will leave wanting more.
