About our home

Our house and situation is very unique. We acquired this property when a prestigious hotel was sold in parcels. we purchased five bungalows, which were then used as rooms and located in the 1/2 hectar garden. we linked all of them together to create our acation retreat. it gives it the advantages of an hotel room, each one having its own washroom(bath and toilet). Each bedroom is différent. two bedrooms are suitable for a couple of which only one has a television. The other bedroom has bunk beds for children along with a small television to play video games. We seldom watch television. The house is all on one level with a beautiful southern exposure. We really enjoy having our meals on our private terrace all shaded by olive trees. There is a large wrought iron table that allows us to enjoy the company of many friends.
The entrance to the property is hidden. It is accessible by an iron door, located in a long stair case and non-visible from the road. We leave our car in a parking lot just off the national road (slowed with speed bumps in the area) and access the property by feet. This isolation provides security. No break in, in 18 years. No one can see us or access us.

More about us

  1. We are a family of four. I am Martine and used to be a stylist before getting married and having children. Now I stay home and take care of our lovely two boys 10 and 8 years. My husband Eric, owns with his brother, a Silk Manufacture here in Lyon.
Everyday, I do 2 or 3 hours of yoga and gym classes
The boys practice fencing, golf and karate. They have attented a bilingual school since their first steps. They are calm, well balanced and happy boys.
We love antiques and "brocantes", it is our favourite hobby. By far, our favorite time is when we are all together. For 18 years we have spent our summer vacation in Grimaud. In 2007, we are looking at traveling, especially now that the children are older. We are looking for a house on a lake or river surrounded by nature. The real Canadian dream, but with confort !

Where is it?

From the house you can enjoy the view of the 1/2 hectar garden followed at a distance by a winery, (Château Saint Maur), olive trees, valley of the Maures, mountains of pines, arbutus, bot nettle trees. Everything you would expect to see in this area of France called : "Le Midi"
Ther are only two properties in the parc now. The other one belongs to very good architect friends of ours. They, just likeus, created their own villa. The rest of the owners are in a large building on the national road, which used to be the main part of the hotel. The whole property is surrounded by large villas.
All the privacy, right in Grimaud. The pharmacy and the post office are one minute by foot. The butcher, bakery and the main place are within 3 minutes by foot. Grimaud is an exceptional village, dominated by a medieval castle featuring animations and shows all summer long.. In the surrounding communities, shows and festivals are ongoing during the summer months. Ramatuelle is the most known for its concerts. Numerous "brocantes" can be found every sundays. Arts is omnipresent (exposition, traveling painters, art galleries, salon, etc...) Within minutes you can go horseback riding among the olive trees, the bambouseraie and the garrigue. For those who prefer walking, we are at the departure of many trails in the garrigue. For boat lovers, Port Grimaud is the next village on the national road. The large beaches of Saint Tropez, Ramatuelle and Pampelone are 20 minutes by car.
