A total contrast to the hectic pace of urban life - an oasis of tranquillity and solitude
Ideal for outdoor life from May to October
3 climate zones:
If it is too hot outside, you hide behind the stonewalls of the old building (85 m²) or jump into the pool (12 x 4 x1,5 m). It has a heat pump to regulate water temperature.
If it is fresh in the evening, you stay in the huge veranda (56 m² ) with open view in all directions,
including the stars above you, and you light the fireplace
If it is warm and breezy at the top of the hill, you take a sunbath in the garden or do some hiking, cycling and horse riding
Or you visit Cluny, the cradle of the Cistercian movement, or you worship with thousands of young people from all over Europe in Taizé (both a 20 minutes drive by car)
or you visit Lyon (1 h) or Paris (3 h)
or your have some wine-tasting sessions closeby (Beaujolais, Pinot noir, Macon).
Bourgogne/ Burgundy is heartland of European history and culture. The longer you stay the more you will discover its heritage and treasures. The climate is moderate, sometimes mediterrean and sometimes "irish"- ideal for excursions in a landscape of green hills, forests, lakes and castles.
I am a frequent traveller due to my job as CEO of an international charity organisation. I speak German, English, French and can understand some Spanish and Portuguese. The house is on offer only during the summer period.
Dance at the terrace after midnight while hearing your favourite songs as loud as you want -
nobody will feel disturbed - your neighbour, a friendly retired farmer, sleeps 50 m away.
Yet, this village is truly global, with new British, Dutch, German and Portuguese inhabitants
who have bought a second home here. The next town with supermarket and restaurant is 4 km,
bigger supermarkets are 13 km away in Charolles
