About our home

Ideal for summer or winter - converted and renovated traditional stone built house comprising part 11th century chapel. Modernised and fully equiped with all amenities and a private secluded garden. 5 minutes walk from local amenities including supermarket and restuarants and 10 minutes drive from nearest large town. The property is well situated close to the main coastal motorway for easy access to the resorts of the Cote d'Azure. The property is ideal for families, couples and friends, both young and not so young. We live in the South of England and bought this house as a second home 2 years ago. We love spending time there as it is very restful but also because it is close to the sea and other places of interest.

More about us

We are Ken and Lesley. We are a professional couple in our early sixties and we are still working as property surveyors. We have 4 grown up children including one son who lives with his wife in Australia. We love to travel and hope to be able to spend longer periods of time abroad when we cut down on our work commitments. We would like to visit the USA, South America, Africa, Asia and other parts of Europe. We are open to all suggestions as we believe all places have something different to offer. We are particularly looking to go to Australia and New Zealand but we cannot make this trip until 2011

Where is it?

Neighbourhood

The house is situated in the village of Le Thoronet in Le Var 5 minutes drive from the A8 Motorway. The village has all the local amenities. The area is mid way between the coastal resorts and the magnificent Gorge du Verdon (largest gorge in Europe). Staying in the village one gets a very real feel of local French life as all our neighbours are French. the nearest town is Le Luc which has a weekly market, banks, supermarkets etc.
