About our home

Chamlodge Chalet is a 3 stars character Savoyard chalet situated in a quite but central location in the village of Les Houches in the heart of the Chamonix Valley in the French Alps.

We are offering the whole of the first floor of Chamlodge Chalet which consists of two joined self-catering apartments with 3 bedrooms (2 king-size beds, 1 double bed, 2 single beds) 2 lounges/dining rooms/kitchen areas (with 3 comfortable double sofa beds) and 2 bathrooms with showers and wc's.

Chamlodge is situated in a stunning and quite village position just off the main village road and enjoys fantastic views of the whole of the Mont-Blanc massif. It is only 1 hour drive from Geneva airport and it is very well connected for excursions to Val d'Aosta, Turin and Milan in Italy, Geneva and the Valais region of Switzerland, Annecy and Lyon.

The chalet is very well connected to the main dual carriageway that comes into the valley from Geneva/Annecy and from the Mont Blanc Tunnel. It is only 5 kilometres and only 5 minutes drive from the famous winter and summer town of Chamonix mecca for skiing and mountaineering.

In the summer our guests can enjoy use of our garden equipped with sun beds, tables and chairs and a barbeque. The chalet has suitable parking spaces, ADSL internet. On request, we can provide additional services, transport and assist with all winter and summer activities.

  1. Camelia and I are both Italian having lived and worked in London for over twenty years. Camelia is 39 and I am 45 our years old. Six years ago we both quitted our high-powered London jobs and decided to move to Chamonix looking for a higher quality of life.

    Camelia is a professional photographer and a professional quad-bike rider. She will be competing in the Lisbon-Dakar race in January 2008. I manage a local company which offers apartments and chalets for rental. I love downhill mountain biking, off-piste skiing and many other sport activities. We both try to travel as much as possible during our spring and autumn time.

Where is it?

The Les Houches village is a picturesque Savoyard village situated in the heart of Chamonix valley.

It is the largest village in the valley after the town of Chamonix. It has a Council Office, Tourist Office, one bank, 2 supermarkets, a number of sport shops, bars and restaurants together with an outdoor ice- skating centre, a function hall, one cable car and a fast gondola which takes you up to 1850 metres.

During the winter, Les Houches offers over 100 kilometres of groomed pistes for skiing and snowboarding and in the summer it is a popular are for trekking, mountain biking. Les Houches is on the same winter and summer lift pass as the whole of the Chamonix valley. It is also the start for the classical ascension route to the Mont-Blanc.

Ranked within the top ten skiing and boarding resorts in the world, the Chamonix valley offers a great variety of skiing and boarding, and an impressive snow record. It is also the ultimate off-piste paradise.

From Spring onwards, Chamonix continues to offer a wealth of activities in one of the most beautiful surroundings.

These include walking, trekking, rock climbing, mountaineering, canyoning, mountain biking, paragliding, rafting, horse riding, tennis, golf and many others.

Most of the other chalets near to Chamlodge are holiday houses and our neighboroughs are all very friendly.
