Where is it?
Our house is located in a wonderful area, with lots of things to do (visiting and outdoor activities), with a very special atmosphere and beautiful landscapes. it is not yet too touristy (compared to the South East), although many English people enjoy the area.
The village is close to Lagrasse, one of the nicest villages in the area. You can also go and visit Narbonne, Carcassonne, Perpignan, Collioure. You can also tour the Cathare castles and abbeys.
With the kids, you can spend a whole day in the Reserve Africaine (zoo) in Sigean.
If you enjoy good food, there are many wineries in the area and there are 2 excellent weekly food and clothes markets, ideal for traditional French delicacies in Lézignan-Corbières and Narbonne. There are also very good restaurants in the area.
If you enjoy sports, you can go fishing in the river in the village (licence required but old fishing rods at home!),wind-surfing, sailing or land sailing in Gruissan (35 minutesâ drive) practice free climbing in La Clape (with marvelous views) go horse riding, swim in the sea (long sandy beaches) or in the local swimming pool in Lézignan Corbières or in the Orbieu river in the neighbouring villages (5 to 25 minutesâ drive) (picture 10), walk on local footpaths or along the Canal du Midi (nice walks or cycling)
If you're a night owl, you can go to the Casino in Gruissan or nightclubs in Narbonne.
