“Last summer we spend a 2.5 weeks holiday in the house of Pierre and Isabelle. We had the luck to meet the whole family, and they waited for us with lovely homemade pancakes :-). They have a nice, spacy and authentic house in Lorient which we liked a lot, and they live on bycicle distance from the beach. Cycling all along the coastline was very nice and there are nice and pittoresque coast places around. The garden of the house is great, and we loved to spend the mornings there while our kids were enjoying their time with the tons of toys there were! Pierre and Isabelle gave us great tips to go and we could have spend much more time here. We spend a few days on the festival which was very very nice. Last but not least we really liked the easy contacts we had by what\'s app and because of this we nearly did two holidays in one, looking to our place in the Netherlands through there eyes. It was our first swap, a great experience and we like to recommend them to everyone, especially very good with kids! Marco, Claske, Rosemarijn & Bram (Houten, The Netherlands)”

“Wonderful, large, clean and organised family house within cycling (15 minutes) distance of great beaches. In addition, there was a regular bus service to the sea. We and our four children enjoyed staying at Isabelle and Pierre's home which is also walking distance from a big supermarche and two boulangeries. Communication with Isabelle was excellent at all times and she replied promptly to any queries. Lovely big garden. Highly recommended. Orla and Ken.”
“It was a great pleasure to swap with Isabelle, Pierre and their children. Their place is very comfortable, just in the centre of Lyon. The way they prepared the guide for their home was so kind! Lyon is a very beautiful town, with two big rivers and many large parks... Our son liked very much La Tete d'Or and the zoo. Very interesting also the historical centre of the town and the Aquarium”
“We exchanged with Isabelle and Pierre in 2006 and it was simply great. I'm looking forward to revisiting the local cafe (which I forgot the name of) and the amazing restaurant just around the corner.”
A notre retour, notre maison était impeccable. ”
“We spent perfect 10 days in the warm and welcoming home of Isabelle and Pierre. Everything is close by (beach, shopping, city, market) and the many bycicles allow you to leave the car. Isabelle and Pierre gave us many good tipps what to do, so we got to wonderful places we wouldn\'t have found ourselves!! Since the weather was extremly good, we didn\'t see a lot of indoor highlights (just have to come back :)) The contact up front and during the exchange has always been very friendly and open. Our 3 girls also enjoyed the garden very much and loved to feed the cat! Since we stayed another 10 days along the coast, we were able to meet Isabelle, Pierre and the kids two more times. It is always surprising how kids don\'t care about language and get along so well!! We feel very blessed to have new friends in Brittany :)”
“Beforehand we didn't really know what to expect from Lyon, but it was love at first sight. What a great place! The scenery with the hills and the rivers is very nice, there are beautiful old houses, squares,a lot of cafes and our children enjoyed all the playgrounds this city has. Pierre and Isabelle's house is in Croix Rousse, and we think that's the best place to stay in Lyon. We especially liked the big daily market, the small shops and the great views from every corner. The house is very cosy, the neighbours friendly, we felt right at home. We hope to come back to Lyon one day and meet Pierre and Isabelle. They are really friendly people, they even left us a stack of freshly baked crepes when we got home, what more could you ask for?”
Where is it?
Lorient is a great place, lively, think about festivals all around, especially the Interceltic festival on august.
The whole coast is absolutely amazing, the weather is pretty good most of the time :) Sand beaches are beautiful and not overcrowded.
You'll probably love the famous Ile de Groix ( Groix Island) in front of Lorient, you can reach it in a 45 minutes boat trip. You may also reach different places by boat (Port Louis for example) using public transportations, a kind of "bus-boat".
Considering we moved to Lorient, we definetly think this is the place to live, so I guess this is perfect for vacations.
Next to our home you'll find everything you need (bakery, meat, supermarket, doctors…).
Bus to reach the city centre is 200 meters but you can walk for 20 minutes or take a bike.
Less than 3 hours by train from Paris but there are so many things to do and see here, you won't want to visit anything else!
We are members of an association which aims to maintain local organic agriculture: on monday you can be provided with baskets of organic fruits, vegetables, bread, eggs, cheese, apple, tea... Each week we get 2 or 3 full baskets of food through this association and we would be happy our swappers discover it!
