About our home

We live in a cosy house with a small nice garden in the beautiful little village of Lourmarin in the South Luberon. The house is about two minutes walk from the village centre. The neighbours are calm and friendly.

The house is on two floors. On the first floor there are three bedrooms (one bedroom with a double bed, one bed room with a bunk bed, one bedroom with a single bed), one bathroom, one toilet and one extra room which is now the playroom (with a 2p sleeper couch). On the ground floor there is the living room (with a 2p sleeper couch), kitchen, 2nd toilet and the garage (which we don't use for the car but as a storage). Our house is basic but clean and there is everything one needs nevertheless. The decoration is playful and colorful.

The garden is on the backside and is very private: there is a small sand pit for the children aswell as a playhouse, there are two sunchairs and a table and six chairs to eat outside.

One big advantage of our house is that it stays cool inside on hot summer days. On the other hand our garden is on the South so there is sun for the biggest part of the day. We have kind of a tent which can be put up in the garden which gives shade if prefered.

More about us

  1. We are a family with three children: one princess of 9 years old and two cutepieboys of 7 and 3 years old. They are the greatest children in the world and used to travelling, so they surely will be respectfull of your home! My husband (33) designs and makes furniture and I (37) am a fashion stylist.

We come from the Netherlands and have only moved from Amsterdam to the Luberon area a few months ago, so we are still discovering the region and country ourselves and until now I must say it's pretty great here! If you choose to come stay at our place, it will be our pleasure to give you tips about the region and do our best to ensure you have a wonderful holiday!

We are looking for an exchange of approx. 1 week in july in Corsica, and two weeks in july/august in Croatia. We are also looking for an exchange at then end of August in Amsterdam.

We are also open to short breaks within France. Nous sommes aussi interressés par des courts séjours ou week-end en France (cherchons encore pour le weekend de l ascension)

We are open to all propositions, for this year though within Europe.

Where is it?

Lourmarin is nicely situated as a base for visiting the Provence. It is in the southernmost part of the Vaucluse and in the heart of the Luberon area. Aix-en-Provence is about 30 minutes to the south and Avignon about 45 minutes to the west.

It's a beautiful region to explore with some nice typical provencal villages like Cucuron, Ansouis and Vaugines nearby and on the Northern side of the Luberon villages like Bonnieux, Lacoste and Ménerbes. There are also some very nice hiking and biking possibilities in the Luberon mountains (and around). One can easily drive to great spots in the Luberon, as you can stop the car in front of the house and drive easily to the main road without having to drive through the village itself. Lourmarin is about one hour to 1h30 drive to the sea and beaches.

Lourmarin itself is classed as a "les plus beaux villages de france", and has the label "village fleuri" as well . The house is just a walk of two minutes to the village center. It's a small picturesque village (1100 inhabitants) in the middle of vineyards and olive groves north of the Durance River. There are some nice cafes and restaurants with terraces, there is a market on fridays, nice winding little streets, a Renaissance castle, a temple etc, etc..It has a very peaceful and positive atmosphere. The camping of Lourmarin has a public swimming pool where one can swim in the summer months, it's about 200m from our house.
